By the time the sun was up you were in your bedroom surrounded by the turtles explaining how you can't tell anyone about their existence for the 5th time. "You got all that? If you tell a single soul we're gonna kill you." The one wearing red that you now knew was called Raphael got in your face and made a fist. "Back off Raph, we're not gonna kill you." Leo spoke in a more relaxed voice and gave you a reassuring smile before they all left out your window.
Weird night. You laid back on your bed and debated going to school that day, unfortunately, you knew if you asked to stay home your mom would say no. But you had a plan. You got dressed and told your mom goodbye as if you were going to school but instead, you just walked around the city as an attempt to clear your mind. You put in your earbuds and put on (your favorite song) as you walked down the crowded streets of New York.
As the song ended you felt a drop of something wet fall onto your face, quickly you looked up to see a cloudy sky and a few small drops of rain. "Shit dude I didn't bring an umbrella and I can't go back home." You swiftly ran into the alleyway and hid under the Perron to hopefully not get drenched as an idea popped into your head. Those turtle guys have a nice hangout spot! You snuck over to the manhole cover and made sure no one was looking before you slid into the sewers.
You turned on your phone light and walked around the sewers while trying to remember where it was by looking at familiar graffiti. After about 10 minutes of walking, you started to realize that your idea maybe wasn't the best one ever. You sat down on a dry spot and opened your phone to maybe call April for help but the sound of footsteps stopped you. A drug addict? A clown? A psychopath? A homeless person?
The turtles...? Yeah, the turtles!
You got up from your spot on the ground and started walking towards the footsteps only to be met with a full face of plastron and knock back 5 you fell back onto the ground shattering your phone in the process. "Oops, I'm sorry!" You looked up to see a tall turtle with a face full of guilt. He quickly reached out his hand which you just now noticed only had three fingers. Hesitantly you grabbed his hand and he pulled you up with ease. You didn't let go and just stared into his eyes just like the night before until his brothers spoke up.
"Uhh y/n? What are you doing back here?" Leo looked at you confused as you snapped out of your daze and took your hand back. "Oh uh just getting away from the rain?" You avoided eye contact and put your hands in your pockets. "Aww, what it's raining? The orange one made a sad face and dropped his skateboard on the ground which made you notice that they all had skateboards. The tall one put his finger up and looked at the others "I told you all that it was gonna rain today, you could tell from how the air was yesterday."
He spoke with an accent you could only describe as nerdy. They all sighed and started walking back towards the lair and you silently followed. "Woah dudes the lady girl followed us back home." Mikey pointed at you when you all made it back to the lair. They all stared at you beside the purple one who ran off into his lab before quickly back out and acting as if nothing happened. "Can I stay here, just until 3:00!" You said practically begging.
They all looked at each other before sighing and nodding. "You wanna play a game!" Mikey grabbed you excitedly and dragged you to the TV.
Donnie's pov
"The night that y/n stayed she had snuck into my lab, and unfortunately I was asleep. Hopefully, she didn't see my computer. We did talk a little before the guys woke up and then we had to take her home... I didn't think I'd see her again until this morning when I crashed into her! I think I broke her phone but she never mentioned it, so maybe I didn't? Anyway, she's been playing some stupid video game with Mikey all day.
It's not like I'm jealous or anything! But I wanna show her my work. She seemed interested in it last night, she seemed interested in m- no. Ugh! Why does Mikey get to hang out with her ALL day she's gonna be leaving soon." Metalhead was always the guy that Donnie talked to when he wanted to talk about something because he knew his brothers would make fun of him and April wasn't a good listener.
"Uh, Donnie Mikey got pizza you wanna come eat?" Leo NEVER knocks. "Uhm yeah, I'll be right out. Is y/n still here?" Leo looked at Donnie a tad confused but just nodded before leaving and going out to the kitchen. This is my chance to get some time with her! Donnie celebrated to himself before walking out into the kitchen to join the rest of the guys and now the girl.
Your pov
You watched as Donatello walked out of his lab and only took your eyes off him when he sat down and looked up at you. I didn't think about how awkward this would be. "Sooo what are y'all into?" They all looked at you strangely surprised as if they weren't expecting you to talk. Mikey was the first to speak up and he just talked about how he likes pizza, comics, his skate board the list goes on. Leo talking about his meditation and something boring probably that space show he was complaining about not being about to watch because Mikey wouldn't get off the game. Raph said something about fighting then left.
Now for Donatello's turn, you kinda already knew from last night that he liked science and mechanics but you still gave him your full attention. Until he didn't stop talking. For over 5 minutes. The only thing that made him stop was when Leo put his hand on Donatello's shoulder and shook his head. He looked away shyly and apologized before looking back at you. "What about you y/n?" Suddenly you knew nothing about yourself. "Uhh, I don't know...I like to go on walks?" This felt like the first day of school.
"Hey wait shouldn't you be at school right now?" Donatello asked confused. You were hoping they wouldn't ask this question. "Oh uh no today is a day off." Yeah, no one believed that, you were never a good liar. Before anyone could say anything April walked in with a smile that soon faded when she saw you sitting at the counter, with Donatello. She walked over to him and threw herself onto him "Oh Donnie I had the worst day ever!" She was quite the actor. Be carefully lifted April off of him and gave her a look I can only describe as this picture.

April took his arm and led him to his lab while she fake-whined. April has changed a lot in the past day. You thought to yourself as you felt a knot in your stomach slowly grow. You waited on the couch with Mikey and Leo as they watched a space show that you weren't very interested in. A few minutes later April left in a somewhat angry manner. You waited before entering his lab again to get away from the boring show. "Hey Donnatello?" He perked up from his computer and shoved it to the side "y-yes y/n?" You walked over to his desk and peered at computer that had somthing pulled up about 'the pillow method'? And a picture of a belly. You ignored it and plopped your smashed phone in his desk.
"I noticed that your pretty good with machines you think you can fix my phone?"
Donnie's pov
