"Goodbye! I hope to see you later sometime, Doroteya!" Jordan called, smiling. She was striding across the little grass clearing onto the wooden boards of the Battle and Archery platform. Jordan had won first place in the Archery and battle competition held each year for two years in a row. She was also the first one to score the maximum of 50 bulls eyes in five minutes for the archery test held in the same competition. Even though she was already the best at battle in her whole grade, she had one dream. Actually, she had a lot of them. To be famous one day, to be the first person to greet the sun goddess without getting burnt to a crisp, to teach kids how to defend themselves, and so on and so on. However, there was one thing that Jordan desired the most. I need to work hard to become the best fighter in all of Equacialine!

I'm just doing it for fun though, so I don't entirely mind if I fail. Jordan scurried up the stairs to the platform, and heard a voice above her. "Hey, Jojo~ How's life?" It was Vienna Faye. Vienna was this super rich girl who was pretty nice overall, but would joke around sometimes. She was the kind of person that would buy her friends anything they wanted. Anything and everything. She had the power to make peoples minor wishes come true, and she used this power to get a ton of wealth, and to get some things for free. Beside Vienna, stood Jordan's other two best friends, Asher Engle, and Eve Winchester. Asher was this decently silly guy who was pretty much the glue that held the quartet together. Without him, the group would be boring and lonely.

If it were only like that for his poor limbs though. Unlike the strong bond of Jordan's friends and her, Asher would pretty frequently lose his limbs whenever he de-attached them for fun. Jordan had always found his power of taking off and controlling his body parts kind of creepy, but she had gotten used to it. His lost limbs now fell off even more often since it was harder to stick back on. I wonder how Asher feels about it– Does taking off a body part hurt?

"Hey, Vienna. Life is just sooo peachy!" Jordan said sarcastically, waving to Eve, who waved back. Eve was normally quiet, but his senses were as sharp as a needle. He only really talked to Jordan, Vienna, and Asher, but not really anybody else. That didn't stop him from mastering his sword skills though. "Where were you, Jordan? Battle class started about five minutes ago, and you just came now," Asher questioned. Eve nodded in agreement, signalling to the bench she was sitting on earlier. "What were you doing with that girl in the braids over there?"

"Oh, it's nothing guys. She was just having a crappy day I guess, and we had a pleasant conversation. I'm pretty sure it made her feel better, though, since she walked off to her classes with a smile!" Jordan grinned. "Yeah, I'm not surprised. You're practically a sponge for negative emotions or something," Vienna sighed, twirling her wavy hazel hair. "How do you do it?"

"Do what?" Jordan asked. "Make people automatically happy whenever you're around them, of course!" Vienna said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Jordan honestly didn't entirely know the answer to this question, so she just shrugged. Picking up a sword from off the ground, she tossed it over to Eve, who was off guard. He let go of the sword accidentally, as it sailed through the air quickly, and landed through Asher's... Asher's hand? A gasp came from Eve. "Sorry, sorry! That was on me–" Eve looked down at the writhing hand which seemed to try to grasp the sword by itself. "Ewww... dude, stop disconnecting your body parts like that!" Vienna scoffed. "It's not my fault! It just fell off, I swear!" Asher scoffed back. "Does it even hurt...? I mean, the sword literally is embedded into your hand's flesh–..." Eve grimaced, pulling out the sharp, yellow sword. "No, I actually can't feel anything until it is attached to me again. So until it's healed and put back on without any pain, I won't recommend trying to shove it back onto my wrist."

Jordan rolled her eyes, looking for another weapon she could get her hands on. "The sword is for you, Eve. Do you want to duel? I know you've been waiting for the new and improved swords since they are higher quality, but this yellow one is the best we've got until the other ones get delivered." Eve nodded, accepting the battle. Jordan searched for weapons, which were usually all scattered across the ground, but couldn't find another sword. "Jordan, I think that all the swords are being used by other students today– I can try looking in the shed, though? There may be a few extra hidden deep in there," Eve suggested. "Well it's better to double check, so go ahead," Jordan responded.
