Meanwhile:

Taehyung was kneeling behind a rock under a tree, his eyes searching for any further movement. He didn't have that many arrows left, and he knew he was not strong enough for close combat. So he had to choose when to shoot and when to hide. It has been going like this for 3 hours. The dark elf bandits found him at a spring a few miles back, he got away fortunately, injuring one of them.

He remembered this bottleneck in the mountain pass from when he and Jimin came through, so made sure he got to high ground immediately. His horse was hidden in some brush further back. He had his waterskin and he had some rolls. And he had patience, lots and lots of patience.

Seeing movement, he held back, then when the dark elf's torso was fully visible, he let go of the arrow, the string of his bow singing next to his ear. With a soft thud the arrow pierced the elf's heart, and he dropped to the ground, dead.

Number 4 done and dusted. 7 more to go, if he counted correctly. He only had 5 more arrows. Unfortunately, in his rush to get to the high ground, he wasted quite a few in attempts to keep the dark elves' heads down.

That means taking care of two of them will probably be close combat, unless he can think of something.

"Are you getting tired, pretty? You know we can just outwait you. You will have to sleep sometime, and then you are ours. I can already taste you on my tongue."

The shivers of revulsion ran down Tae's spine. He will not let that happen, when push comes to shove and there is no way out, he will kill himself, but he will not fall prey to these horrible creatures.

Another movement and the twang of the bowstring signalled another death.

After about 30 minutes, no further movement was seen, but arguing could be heard. Unfortunately, Tae could not make out what was said.

The sudden silence was ominous, and he got ready, his gut just told him this is it.

The next moment, 6 dark elves came rushing towards his spot from all sides, he shot the closest one, lodged the arrow again for the second time, shot another one, but only in the arm. Then they were on him. He pulled his sword, swinging in a wide arch, grazing 2 of them, but it was not enough. He continued fighting, but he was being pushed back all the time.

He realised this was it, this would be the end of his life, but he will go down fighting. He is a Black Forest elf after all.

Before he could even attack again, 5 more dark elves came from the side, smirking. Shit, he had miscounted badly.

He stepped towards the cliff quickly, the wall of rock protecting his back at least. Now, he had 10 dark elves facing him, and nowhere to go.

A shout rang out and 3 Korma Glen elves and one Red Grove prince jumped in the fray, mowing down the 10 dark elves in a jiffy.

Tae stood leaning against the rock wall, short gasps leaving his lips. His eyes found the black pair of Jungkook, the fury in them clear.

As they all looked around and found no more attackers, Jimin walked to Taehyung and hugged him tightly. "You stupid, hard headed, little shit. Do you know how worried I was?! If I had known that hug could be our last, I would have tied you up and locked you in!"

Tae could just give a little huff laugh, he was tired. "I am sorry Jiminie, I just..." the words ended in a sigh. Jimin whispered softly "I know, but please, listen to what he has to say, give him one chance, please Tae. He nearly went crazy when we saw you from the ridge."

Jimin let Tae go, standing back so Yoongi and Hobi could hug him as well. Then the three walked to their horses, taking Tae's, who they have found when they came down the ridge, with them.

Jungkook looked at the man he loved. Grey, sweaty hair in a disarray, sweat making little paths through the dust on his face. Clothes torn and dirty. But still the most beautiful elf ever.

Clearing his throat, Jungkook offered a waterskin to Tae, who took it and drank deeply. His own got lost in the last minutes of the fight. He wiped the extra water from his lips with the back of his hand, the macho gesture looking so out of place on the ethereal man.

"Tae, lets follow the others, our horses are on the ridge above."

Tae nodded, walking the same direction the others left. Going up was difficult, his legs were tired, but Jungkook helped him the whole way, carefully pulling and guiding him, till they topped the ridge and found the others under some trees.

Tae went to his horse, to make sure she was fine. She seemed to be. He sheathed his sword in the scabbard on his saddle after cleaning off the blood with some grass.

"I am going to get some wood, you two, come help." Jimin said, pointing at Hobi and Yoongi. Not so subtle but effective, nonetheless.

"Tae, can we talk, please." Jungkook asked softly. Tae just nodded; he didn't know what else to say.

They sat down on the grass at an angle to each other.
