It had been just over four weeks since the merger, and tensions were only increasing. Especially between Sydney and Jackson, who seemed to never stopfighting. Lexie was about to just accept her fate that there would never be silence in the locker room again.
And they argued about everything—being on Arizona's service, the political correctness of McSleazy, even the right way to fold scrubs—it was maddening.
But, for once, there was silence. Mostly due to the fact that even they had decided it was too late to argue, but what was really left to disagree about?
Whether or not the Emerald City Bar can be referred to as Joe's?
Actually, don't give them any ideas.
Thankfully, after a very stern talk from Bailey, they'd stopped arguing in front of actual patients. Now it was just everywhere else. Hissing insults at each other, shooting dirty looks, it was like they just collectively refused to apologize.
But, for the first time in those four weeks, Sydney and Jackson were quiet. And thank God for that, because the residents were finally finishing up a back-to-back shift, and no one had the mental capacity to even listen.
She leaned against her cubby, shutting her eyes for what she promised herself would be just a second, not yet bothering to take her scrubs off.
It was just one of those days.
Edit: It was just one of those nights.
"Are you in there?" Lexie asked from the cubby beside hers.
She mumbled a no, but still turned around to grab her bag and fresh clothes. Because, let's be honest—hospital scrubs are gross. Especially after working in pediatrics.
