Chapter 36

(Jungkook POV)

 Y/n can only have meant me by stepbrother. Omg, I'm so happy.... After all, she must have feelings for me too. 

Otherwise she wouldn't have googled something like that. I really have to tell Tae about it. By the way, I was just walking to school. Y/n had already left, so I had to go alone. Maybe I'll meet Tae on the way. 

Then I can tell him about it right away. And as luck would have it, my best friend was walking ahead of me. "Tae!" I called him and kept calling until he turned around. 

"Kookie, morning," he greeted me and walked next to me. Our greetings aren't quite normal for best friends. A hello or morning is enough. I mean, some best friends hug each other, shake hands or even dance a dance. 

We say 'Hello' in a boring way. OK, that's enough. "Hey, I have to tell you something." I clapped my hands excitedly. Tae looked at me expectantly, which I saw as an invitation to start telling him. "-and then I just went to my room." I was finished and waited for a reaction from my best friend. 

He suddenly started laughing. What's wrong with him now? "Why are you laughing like that?" I asked, slightly angrily, because I felt like I was being made fun of. 

He can't be laughing like that now. "Do you actually realize what you're talking about?" he continued to laugh, which made me snort angrily. Nevertheless, I looked at him questioningly because I didn't know what he meant. 

"You're so in love with her," Tae said dryly, looking at me more seriously than ever. "Ok... I'm in love... OK, but with my stepsister? Are you serious??" I looked at him in disbelief, but then looked at the floor. Is he right?

 "Your face is red. You always play pranks on each other. They say that if you tease each other, you love each other, right?" he explained to me and continued walking as we had stopped. 

"That could be," I murmured quietly. I have changed. I'm usually loud and not at all shy or anything.... I was torn from my thoughts when Tae screamed loudly.

 "OMG there's a cat!!! Save me!!! JUNGKOOK DO SOMETHING!!!", you could hear him screaming all over the street. The bro is afraid of cats. So I stood in front of Tae and chased them all away. She wanted to run towards TaeTae and probably snuggle up to his leg. 

There were cats like that. When she was gone I turned to Tae. He was already feeling better again.

 Now we can finally walk to school, otherwise we'll be late.
