I stared longley at the knights practicing archery and sword-fighting. I long to be right next to them and practice alongside them. “Who’s got your eye?” asked Allison, breaking me out of my daydream “My eyes are on that one.” she says pointing to my best friend Peter. It's no wonder why Allison likes Peter with his dirty blond hair and hazel eyes. He's the blacksmith's son. He doesn't look like him. Peter is tall, lean, and clumsy while he’s short and has big muscles, and can walk without tripping every two minutes.
We met when I left the castle and went to the town. I was wearing a light brown curly wig, contacts, a white top, a vest, pants, and my boots that I never get to wear, so nobody knew who I was. He was carrying some leftover metals that his father didn't use, and I didn’t see where I was walking and accidentally bumped into him,and then we started talking and the rest is history.
I actually taught him how to sword fight, he couldn’t hold it right when we first started. Now he is the best fighter the kingdom has seen other than me, but he is in love with my twin brother Alex, who looks like me with midnight black hair and forest green eyes. They look so cute together, they are the complete opposite. Alex likes libraries with books on the shelves stacked to the roof, the peaceful quiet, and isn’t bothered by what people say about him. He also likes to make crafts with the woodcarver in town.
Peter on the other hand likes adventure, the loud taverns in the town, and is bothered by what people say about him. He loves what Alex makes for him, he lines the shelves in his room with them. They complete each other, Alex taught him how to ride a horse. It was so funny seeing Peter trying to get on the saddle without falling off, trying to get off the horse without getting his foot stuck on the stirrup, falling over when the horse moved, but there is one massive problem with them dating. Our mother wouldn’t agree at all about them dating. To her it’s all about girls like boys and boys like girls not the other way around. So they’re dating in private.
Who my eye is really on is Princess Sonya, the princess of our enemy kingdom. She is the apple to my eye, she doesn’t need to know that. So that’s just wonderful. I can’t date not because she is a girl but because she is also the princess of our enemy.
“Girls” my mother, queen Juilet called out, “Yes” we answered, i’m still looking out of the window not making eye contact or answering like the rest of girls. “Michelle!” my mother yelled at me.”Yes Mother” I answered sarcastically. My mother looked that she wanted to yell at me but she couldn’t in front of my so-called friends. “Girls, the enemy is here to make amends with us.” “Yes” I thought if we can become allies I can probably date Sonya in private of course. Just then the trumpets started to play loudly and scared me and that resolved in me falling on my butt.“ Get up Michelle” mother says harshly “Also they’re here” mother says weirdly excited.
When we arrive at the throne room where meetings are held, I see my dad King Louis and my brother standing at his side. We get our hair color from our dad but our eye color is from mother, I also see Peter and someone else standing by the thrones guarding them. Peter by our thrones, the other one by my parent’s. When my mother got to her throne after we all sat down and was waiting for Sonya and her parent. I’m wearing a very uncomfortable midnight blue and navy blue dress and corset. I never really like dresses, and corsets, so under my dress I wear pants that are Alex’s but fit me just fine.
I was starting to get bored and started to pick at a loose thread I had in my dress after I cut a very small slit in the leg, so I could move more easily. “Stop it”, Mother whispered harshly at me. “Sorry” whispered back, hiding the slit as best I could, you could still see some of it. “What’s that?” my mother asked, looking at my skirt. “Nothing” I said softly hoping she would believe me. Peter noiceting the problem I was in, moved closer to me, so he could hide the slit. “That’s not nothing, you have a tea stain on your skirt.” I let out a breath that I didn’t know I was holding in. Just then the doors burst open scaring me and Peter, because of the sudden noise.
