Not Your Everyday Fairytale

Chapter 2

When I opened my eyes and saw nothing, I stood up and all around me was nothing, just pitch black nothing. “WEAK” a voice echoed , “What?” I asked, “WEAK” it said again more clearly,”WEAK,WEAK,WEAK” it said over and over again,  almost teasing me, I covered my ears with my hands “STOP IT, STOP IT” I yelled. Then I felt chains around my wrists,and ankles,when I looked up I saw a figure than it opened up and screamed   “YOU ARE WEAK, YOU’LL NEVER BE ANYTHING ELSE THAN A WEAK.LITTLE.GIRL!” it yelled. When the yelled at me the chains moved, bringing my hands to my side and making me kneel, making it hard to move my hands,or my feet  so I just had to listen to the voice yell at me. 

I also saw another figure running towards me before it could reach me. The chains started to heat up and start to burn me.  I tried to choke back a sob, instead I let out the most pain filled scream. I woke up silent screaming, panicking. I got up, I checked my wrist and ankles, and I saw faint burn marks on my wrist and ankles. I hated that nightmare,  I used to have the same type of nightmare when I was a little girl, but never this intense,and there was never another figure. They’re happening more often now than ever, they started when I left the castle one day when I was 9. 

When I met an old lady who was poor, and was asking for spare change; so I gave her some money, but when I handed her the money, she grabbed my arm and said “Be careful when you go into your dreams, you will hear something that scares you  or something that supports you”then she let go of my arm and ran down the alleyway I chased her, but when I turned the corner into the alley she was gone and I never saw her again. Ever since I only hear somethings that scares me, but why now do I see another figure, anyway let's stop worrying about the past. 

 I stayed there laying in bed for around 20 minutes, then I heard a knock at my door, “Come in” I said, still sleepy, “Did I wake you, your highness?” I  heard a soft mousey voice say, I knew who talked just from those words, because she has been with me my whole life. One of my maids named Darcey.

She was the one to wake me up in the morning, because she knew I wouldn’t kill her when I first woke up in the morning. “No, I have been up for hours,” I said as I sat up in bed. I saw her make her way to the closet and pick out my outfit for the day. She picked a brown vest,  white linen shirt, black pants, and boots that were hidden far back in my closet. When she put those on my bed I looked at her like she went crazy, “Why did you pick this for me? My mother will flip!” I almost yelled at Darcy, 

“I noticed how uncomfortable you looked in the clothes you always wear, so I thought I should choose something different, and your parents are visiting neighboring kingdoms to tell everyone about the wedding. ” she said smiling. I gasped out of excitement not hearing the last part. “Thank you,Thank you.” I said climbing off of my bed and running to hug Darcy. “No problem.” she said laughing. After getting changed and Dracy putting on little makeup with a fight, because I don’t like makeup but mother told me to suck it up and wear it, so I did.

After all that I walked towards Alex room, I burst through without knocking and shouted, “WAKE UP WENCH!” “AHAHAHAHAH” he screamed as he fell out of bed, “Did you have to wake me like that today. What are you wearing? Did mom see you?” He asked, almost rambling, “No, she didn’t see me because she is visiting neighboring kingdoms. So I can wear whatever I want.” I said giggling, Alex took a step back acting scared ”Who are you and What did you do to my twin?” he asked “Oh shut up” I said. “There she is,” he said smiling. I gave him the middle finger.  “Just get dressed, we are meeting Peter and Sonya at the stable soon.” I told Alex.

When we got to the stables, we waited for a few minutes then I saw Peter come out of the side door of the kitchen, with loaves of bread in his arms, and with a bag on his back I wish that I could walk out of the kitchen doors but if the staff saw me in this, they would tell my mom and I would be punished so badly, when she gets back. “Hello Michelle” he greeted me “Good morning, baby “ he told Alex” Good morning too babe” Alex responded before giving each other a quick kiss. “AWWWW!”  “Kill me now,” Sonya and I said at the same time. “What took you so long to get here?” I asked, “It’s hard getting past the guards and them asking where I’m going every time I see them. On that note how do you two get here so fast?” she asked,  “That is a secret that I will never tell.” I told her, she looked at me like I was crazy.
