If you don’t take lessons for how to be a royal, I envy you, everyday for many hours studying with the most snobby girls ever. When I go to lessons all I’m thinking is kill me now, because I have to listen to Princess Cindy bragging about what new suitor she has, she now has 47 suitors. “Tell Alex congratulations for me, marrying Sonya is so nice of him, because we know how poor her kingdom is compared to ours.” she said giggling looking at me.

I almost punched her right then and there but before I could our teacher Miss.O’Moore started the lesson. “Today's lessons are about proper table etiquette for weddings, because if you haven’t heard yet Prince Alex is getting married soon.” I groaned in my head, I hate learning about table etiquette. You think you learned them all but no, there's a new one every time I think I escape this hell. “To start us off for the day, who wants to talk about what they’re wearing to the wedding.” she asked us.

“I’m going to wear a backless forest green mermaid style dress that shows off my figure.” Cindy said, I think she's going to wear that to get more suitors. “I’m going to wear a powder blue sleeveless ball gown.” Allison said, sighing thinking about the dress, she will wear that color because it’s Peter's favorite color. “I’m going to wear a sage green A-line style dress.” Brenda said, same reason as Allison but it’s Alex’s favorite color. “Michelle?” Miss.O’Moore asked me “Yes, Miss.O’Moore” “What dress are you wearing to your brother’s wedding?” she asked, “A plum purple column dress with a slit .” I responded I said that color and style because they were the first thing that I thought of. “Isn’t Sonya’s favorite color purple.” “Yes it is and I will be wearing it because she won’t be able to.” I said I hoped that they believed that answer, “Oh okay that’s so sweet of you wearing the favorite color of the bride who can’t.” Cindy said, Yup, that’s the reason why, I said in my head.

“ Ok, let us get back to today’s lesson proper wedding etiquette, remember for the reception, remember to keep at least one hand free, if you’re standing, have only a drink or food in one hand, never both. Hold a drink in your left hand so that you have a dry hand to offer a firm, not crushing handshake, “ she said, looking at me with a glare.

I rolled my eyes and thought  COME ON happened one time, and he was getting touchy. He deserved it.“You can eat and drink while sitting, but it is always better to stand and greet people. Remember girls always make good eye contact, and avoid approaching two people engaged in deep conversation, wait until there’s a break so you can introduce yourself. Look for visual cues to join the conversation.”

“The most important etiquette to remember is dining etiquette, do not place any bags, purses on the table. Have proper posture and keep elbows off the table. When presented with a variety of eating utensils, remember the guideline to "start at the outside and work your way in".  For example, if you have two forks, begin with the fork on the outside. Do not talk with your utensils and never hold a utensil in a fist. Set the utensils on your plate, not the table, when you are not using them.

There are very special rules relating to the napkin, the rules are that you put your napkin on your lap folded in half with the fold towards your waist soon after sitting down at the table, but follow your host's lead. The napkin should remain on your lap throughout the entire meal. Place your napkin on your chair, or to the left of your plate, if you leave the table as a signal to the server that you will be returning.

When the host places their napkin on the table, this signifies the end of the meal. You should then place your napkin on the table as well.” She continued droning on for hours about etiquette and rules about the proper dresses we could wear. It was getting close to two hours of etiquette. I'm going to rest my eyes for a bit,

“Finally the last rule I want to-MICHELLE, WAKE UP,”

“ Yes ma'am, sorry about falling asleep ma’am” I said after being woken up from a nightmare-less sleep for the first time in years.
