"... I have a past here? Then... Then why don't I remember it?". Holding his head in confusion Caelus looked at the message before pressing the Y as his consciousness was sent away.

Early Days: A Fragile Peace

Lilith and Caelus were born into a world that was already on the brink of collapse. Their parents, both brilliant scientists working for the Fire MOTH, were among the few who truly understood the peril the world faced. Despite the dangers, they were determined to give their children as normal a childhood as possible.

Their home was a small but cozy house on the outskirts of one of the last remaining safe cities. The streets were quiet, the city heavily fortified against Honkai attacks. It was a place where children could still play outside, where laughter could still be heard despite the looming darkness.

Lilith, the younger of the two, was a bright and curious child. She had long white hair that seemed to shimmer in the sunlight, and her amber eyes sparkled with the wonder of a child eager to explore the world. Even at a young age, she was always asking questions, always wanting to know more about everything around her.

Caelus, older by a few years, was her protector and her guide. He had gray hair and amber eyes like his sister, though his gaze often held a seriousness that belied his age. He understood more about the world than Lilith did, understood the sacrifices their parents made every day to keep them safe. But for Lilith, he would always put on a smile, always try to be the hero she believed him to be.

A Conversation Under the Stars

One night, after their parents had gone to bed, Lilith and Caelus snuck out of the house to sit on the roof. It was a clear night, and the stars shone brightly in the sky, unaffected by the troubles of the world below.

"Caelus," Lilith began, her voice soft, "why do you think the stars are so far away?"

Caelus glanced at his sister, smiling at the innocent question. "I don't know, Lil. Maybe they're far away so we can wish on them. If they were too close, they wouldn't seem as magical."

Lilith giggled, her eyes reflecting the starlight. "I like that. Do you think Mom and Dad wish on stars?"

"Maybe," Caelus replied, though he knew their parents were more focused on finding solutions to the problems facing their world than on making wishes. "But you know what? I bet their biggest wish is for us to be happy."

Lilith leaned her head on Caelus's shoulder, sighing contentedly. "I'm happy now, Caelus. As long as we're together, I'll always be happy."

Caelus felt a pang in his chest. He knew that the world was changing, that the threats were growing every day. But he didn't want to burden Lilith with those worries. Instead, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close. "Me too, Lilith. Me too."
