Wings of Fire: Moisac

Introduction

Hello, welcome to Wings of Fire: Mosaic. 

This was an old idea that I posted about a couple years back, but I decided to revamp the story a bit and also make some edits to the plot, since at the time it was just more of a concept then a well fleshed-out story.

This is a Wings of Fire AU that is centered around the reversal roles in the Third Arc. SilkWings are the main 'rulers' of Pantala, instead of HiveWings, making them the dominant tribe. 

This AU does not include the Othermind conflict, purely for the sake of it's intended plot to make a little more sense. I tend to like to stick to cannon as much as possible when writing any fanfic, but I hope this isn't too bad of a change (hopefully as Arc 3 did have many implied antagonists, I felt like some bits that Tui included weren't crucial to the plot so it wouldn't be so bad to change them in this AU). 

Some little details about this AU:

-SilkWings rule over both HiveWings AND LeafWings. 

-Tree Wars was a brief historical event that SilkWings wiped from literature and banned from discussion, and is a very unknown event in current day

-Instead of 'Hives', SilkWings created structures called 'Chrysalis's'. These are similar in concept but not in architecture of Hives. I won't complicate much of this, but their bases are created of the same material of Hives (treestuff), making up the lower levels that HiveWings and LeafWings reside in, as second-class citizens. Above them, there are no more walls of treestuff, opening the space up. Rather, a platform where there are support pillars, strung with webs, and many far above, creating the homes for SilkWings. It is also possible for there to be different spiraling structures and major aspects depending on the Chrysalis, as each have their own unique architectural styles, unlike the Hives.  

-There is still the concept of a Lady ruling each Chrysalis, but there are also 'Lords', the spouses of Ladies who are more second in command in power and status, as a Chrysalis is addressed to the name of the Lady rather then the Lord.

-Trees were NOT all cut down. LeafWings are not shown as threats since they are also under SilkWing rule, so trees are not  taboo in their society. Monarch believed it to be unreasonable, for the amount of use that trees provided. There are forests remaining on Pantala, but not covering the entirety of, mostly around the Chrysali. 

-All HiveWing and LeafWing dragonets that are born are immediately burned with their parents initials and locked with identification bands, either from their school or for their job

-HiveWing and LeafWing dragonets are also tested once they reach of age, and in private, without the reason to why ever being told to them or their parents. If it is found that HiveWings posses any unnatural ability or body parts (such as stingers or venom), they will either be executed or have that body part be cut off. LeafWing dragonets are tested for leafspeak.

-Through propaganda, SilkWings have covered many information that should have been normally known amongst HiveWings and LeafWings, such as the ability of Leafspeak. 

I won't go too deep into the history or timeline of the changes, as most of this will be explained in the book  and major details are relatively the same to cannon :)

Please do comment any mistakes if you notice any or any questions in general (plotholes, inconsistency, feedback, etc.) It's been a while since I have worked on this project, and the concept was mostly written before Book 15.

I'm probably going to think of changing a couple of aspects of this book like the title and cover, maybe some art as well (sooner or later), this book is more in a kind of 'working' stage since it requires a little more world-building...but I hope it isn't too bad.
