Bondita lay on her bed for more than a hour. The pain she was crying out of was not affecting anymore, the breakfast untouched.
She couldn't comprehend her feeling. What is these sadness? Why am I feeling as if someone betrayed me?
Is what she continued to question herself.Anirudh was one of the man she had trusted a bit while living in cosy house for more than weeks.
She sat up. Tears streamed down her face. But the more she wipes, the more tears fell.
She couldn't understand why was she feeling bad. Was she feeling bad because he was blind or he hid it from her.
But who was she to him or he to her. No one. Just two people living in a house as friends.
She chuckled bitterly. She wrapped her hands around her folded knees and kept her head above it, slowly moving to and from. She couldn't understand... Understand the nature of human's attachment. Attachment she felt for Anirudh.. Her best friend's brother. But the journey was a long way.
Out of sudden she jerked her body up as if woken up from deep sleep. She looked at herself and glanced at cold breakfast. Her heart sank at the sight. She who couldn't even fill her stomach while struggling during hardships, let the Mother Goddess of Food waiting for her cooked by a kind man.
She got up. She touched the plate as if asking forgiveness from Goddess Annapurna. She silently sat and started to eat the food. The food though cold was delicious. She couldn't deny that.
Oh Anirudh.. What a man are you.. Her eyes became teary again but she didn't care. She calm herself down and decided.
' I am going to get over my sadness. For me, my future and Anirudh ji too' She thought determined.
She climbed down, the stairs with back pain aware.
She reached down to see Anirudh washing dishes.
Now that she noticed, he was always careful of what utensils he was washing. Glass materials are always needed to be handled with care.
Without saying anything, she quickly tried to push Anirudh softly.' Anirudh ji, please leave this. This is my job. ' She told in small and dull voice.
Anirudh flinched with her sudden entrance. But hearing her words he frowned a bit.
' It's fine Bondita. I don't know why, I had a feeling that you might not be well. It's totally alright. But are you okay? Is something wrong? ' He asked leaving the dish in sink softly as he was concerned about her.
Bondita's heart fluttered again but looking at his eyes, her face became blank and emotionless.
The eyes... The beautiful plain eyes she thought about.. They were lifeless.. Or to more precise sightless. The mere thought made her heart hurt.
' I am fine, Anirudh ji.. Please don't worry.. And.. Aha.. You forgot about our deal, didn't you. So as a punishment I would cook the food today' She replied with fake cheerfulness.
Anirudh couldn't pin point what was the major issue about her. Her voice.. Everything. .
' Umm.. Ok.. If it's what you want.. I won't interfere. But at least let me complete the dishes. See, I can't stop in middle can, I' He exclaimed a bit chuckling.
