Bucky A/U

Summary: This is a reader request that was put into the comments of the welcome page in this book and it goes a little something like this: friends to lovers story – reader owns a bakery and Bucky owns a bookstore next to her – Steve and Nat are pushing to get them together. SO -the only thing extra I added was Wanda into the Steve and Nat pushing shenanigans so I hope you enjoy! This kind of request is right up my alley.

Content warning: mild language (if any?), Steve, Nat, and Wanda pushing you and Bucky together, Alpine makes a brief appearance, FLUFFFFFF to the fullest.

"Morning Wanda," you waved to your friend and co-worker.

"Morning!" She smiled as she re-filled the coffee station.

"Did you get the order straightened out?" she asked.

"Ugh. I hate going to the supply company but yes, I got it fixed. We will no longer be getting that crappy brand of flour they keep sending me," you shuddered.

You had a new supply company who insisted their new flour supplier was the same as the old one, but they weren't. The quality of flour was sub-par at best, and you've been complaining about it for a few weeks. Finally, you had enough and went down to their offices to complain in person, and you finally got it straightened around.

"New shipment coming tomorrow," you smiled as you wandered back to the kitchen.

"Thank god," Wanda exhaled and turned back to fill one of the cases.

Your bakery, The Rolling Scone, was right on the main street of your town. You had been there for a few years, and you were quite successful. It also helped that you had good businesses around you which did decent walk-in traffic any day of the week.

"This came for you." Wanda handed you a package that looked like it was from the town council office.

You poured yourself a cup of coffee before you opened it. Since the meeting earlier, you had missed the morning rush, and you were grateful there was a bit of a lull for you to relax before you had to go over your deliveries for the weekend.

You opened the letter and looked through the contents.

"It's the town's 'Best Of' award nominations," you furrowed your brows at the papers.

Wanda walked over and looked over your shoulder.

"We're nominated for best bakery?"

"Well, we are the best," she rolled her eyes while winking at you.

"I guess..." you chuckled but eyed up the package.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Well, I don't know really. I mean, I'm thankful and happy we were recognized and nominated, but...I don't know. These awards are kind of silly you know? Especially in a town where there are two bakeries. I mean it's a 50/50 shot for the winner, right?"

You looked through the letter and paperwork. Mayor Fury had signed off on the welcome package letter complete with a ticket to the awards dinner, and you were given a sticker you could display in your window as a finalist in your category for the year.

"Wonder if next door is a nominee too?" Wanda smirked.

You blushed a little before clearing your throat.

"Maybe?" you thought about it.

Your store was next to a bookstore owned by Bucky Barnes. His shop Vintage Volumes is a cool bookstore that specializes in rare and vintage books along with a good selection of modern books. It's one of the coziest places ever and it was right next to you.
