Y/N watched Jack closely, her eyes narrowing as she took in his reaction. His usual cold demeanor was gone, replaced by a look of bewilderment and vulnerability that she had never seen before. It was as if he was a different person entirely.
"What's wrong with you?" she asked, her voice tinged with a mix of curiosity and concern. This was not the Jack she knew—the ruthless, unfeeling man who had always been in control. She couldn't help but wonder what had caused this sudden change.
Y/N reached out hesitantly, her fingers trembling as she lifted Jack's mask. She had to see what was happening beneath it. As the mask came away from his face, she gasped. Dark, viscous ooze was seeping from his eyes, trailing down his cheeks like tears.Jack turned his head slightly, feeling the cool air against his exposed skin. The ooze continued to flow, and he could see the shock and concern in Y/N's eyes. "It's been happening ever since... ever since I started feeling," he confessed, his voice cracking.
Y/N's mind raced. This wasn't just a physical transformation; it was something deeper, something that went to the core of who Jack was. She reached out, gently wiping away some of the ooze with her sleeve. "We'll figure this out," she said softly, determination in her voice. "You're not alone in this."
Jack met her gaze, his eyes filled with confusion and something else she couldn't quite identify. "I don't know," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know what's happening to me."
Y/N took a step closer, her curiosity piqued. She needed to understand what was going on with him, and perhaps, in doing so, she could find a way to break through the walls he had built around himself.
Y/N took a deep breath, trying to steady her own nerves before addressing Jack. "Breathe in and out, Jack," she instructed gently, her voice calm and soothing. "Just focus on your breathing."Jack's chest rose and fell as he tried to follow her guidance. The ooze continued to seep from his eyes, but he could feel a small measure of calm starting to settle over him. He had never felt so vulnerable, so exposed.
"That's it," Y/N encouraged, keeping her tone steady. "In and out. We'll get through this together." She placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, hoping to convey some of her own strength to him. "Whatever's happening, we'll face it head-on. You're not alone."
