Ethan's POV:

The First Encounter -

I was thirteen when I first saw her. It was an ordinary day at the annual charity gala hosted by my father's company, Montgomery Corp.

The event was filled with the usual crowd of influential figures and their well-dressed children. I was there, standing near a grand chandelier, bored and disinterested in the social niceties that surrounded me.

And then I saw her.

She was standing by the edge of the room, away from the clamor of the crowd. Her presence was almost anachronistic amidst the opulence of the gala.

Mira, as I would later learn, was wearing a simple, elegant dress that was a shade of deep blue - understated yet stunning.

Her hair was styled in soft waves, cascading down her back and her eyes, though downcast, seemed to sparkle with a quiet intensity.

There was something ethereal about her, something that made the chaos of the event fade into the background.

It was as if she was in her own world, untouched by the pretense around her. Her beauty wasn't in the conventional sense but in the purity and tranquility she exuded.

She moved with a grace that seemed almost out of place in that grand hall.

Curiosity piqued, I found myself inching closer, drawn by an inexplicable pull. I wanted to know who she was and what made her so different.

I approached one of the staff members, a man who had been working with my family for years.

"Who is that girl?" I asked, trying to sound casual but failing to hide the interest in my voice.

The staff member looked over then back at me with a knowing smile. "Ah, that's Mira Davis. She's the first daughter of Mr. George Davis."

The name hit me like a thunderbolt. George Davis, my father's most significant competitor. A man whose company was always a thorn in Montgomery Corp's side.
