Last week was regionals, and we had a clean sweep! Nationals is right around the corner so I really have to try hard to get a solo at Nationals. I have been waking up earlier to get homeschool done, so I can get to the studio sooner.

Miss Abby always tells us that dance comes before school, so sometimes I put of my schoolwork to dance.

When I got to the studio today, I had a few classes. I had my jazz, lyrical and contemporary classes. Once my last class was over, I got pulled into pyramid.

Today I sat down next to Paige and Maddie.

"This weekend we were in Providence, Rhode Island; an hour outside of Boston. Some of the most prestigious dance studios in the country are there- tough schools, tough competitors. And you really held your own. You won that victory cup. You killed it. I'm very proud." Miss Abby told us.

It makes me happy when I make other people happy. My mom says I am a people pleaser, but I don't really know what that means.

"I am very proud of each and everyone of you. And you know I don't say that too often. I am also proud that all your mothers kept their mouths shut and didn't say anything to me. See how much nicer it is when everything goes so smoothly?" She told the moms. I looked to my mom as she said that she was proud the moms kept their mouths shut, but she gave me a look that told me to focus back onto Abby.

"Now let's talk about this week's competition. We are going to what?" she says as she turns around the chalkboard.

"Starpower!" we all said back to her.

I was on the top of the pyramid this week!

Maddie Chloe

Brooke Paige Nia

Mackenzie Vivi-Anne

(I know the pyramid didn't look like that for this episode, but just ignore it)

"It's at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, and it's a resort. It's all self contained. We can't forget anything. So we will have a wardrobe for each day. Just like the old school days. And you will pack right here in front of me so I know that you have everything." Miss Abby said.

"Let's talk about the board. First of all, everybody worked together as a team. That teamwork is going to help you at Nationals. That's what going to put you over the top- teamwork and technique. Those are the two things that we are going to concentrate on this week."

"This week I'm going to ask you to work harder than you've ever worked before. We need to show up and walk in there like we own the place And I will give you a pack list for the clothes for the trip and I want them dressed a certain way every single day that we are there. Does everybody understand that Yes?" she continued.

"Moms, thank you very much. Ladies let's get up."

FIVE DAYS TO COMPETITION

This weekend Maddie, Nia, Brooke, Paige, and I all had solos. Mine was musical theater and it was really fun.

We were rehearsing the group after pyramid and it is jazz. It's called Make You Mine.  We had chairs we had to use with the dance. It was hard at first, but I eventually got the hang of it.

After about an hour of choreography, I went to my solo private with Abby. I had already learned some of it before pyramid so we just picked up where we left off.
