Siya’s departure was supposed to bring a sense of closure, but instead, it left Aarav with a hollow emptiness that gnawed at him relentlessly. As she walked away, he stood there, frozen, unable to move, unable to call her back. He had done the right thing—he had given her the freedom she deserved—but why did it feel like he had just torn out a piece of his soul?

For days, Aarav wandered through the empty hideout, the silence suffocating him. Every room reminded him of her—her laughter, her defiance, the way she looked at him with those eyes that seemed to see right through him. He had never felt this way before, had never allowed himself to feel anything. But now, all he could think about was Siya, and it was driving him mad.

He tried to push her out of his mind, tried to focus on the next steps—dealing with his enemies, finding a way to disappear—but nothing worked. His thoughts always circled back to her, to the way she had looked at him before she left, as if she wanted to stay, as if she felt the same impossible pull that he did.

But she was gone now, and he had to let her go. He had to.

Or did he?

Aarav shook his head, trying to dispel the thought, but it wouldn’t leave him. What if he went after her? What if he found her and explained everything? What if he told her the truth—that he couldn’t live without her?

No. He couldn’t do that. He couldn’t drag her back into his world, a world of darkness and danger. She was better off without him, living a normal life, free from the shadows that had consumed him.

But what if she wasn’t safe?

The thought hit him like a punch to the gut. He had let her go, but had he really protected her? His enemies were still out there, and if they found out about her, they could use her to get to him. She could be in danger, and he wouldn’t even know it.

He couldn’t take that risk. He couldn’t just sit here and do nothing while she was out there, vulnerable and alone.

His decision made, Aarav grabbed his keys and headed for the door. He knew he was taking a huge gamble, but he didn’t care. Siya’s safety was all that mattered, and if that meant pulling her back into his world, then so be it. He would protect her, no matter the cost.
