Siya walked down the crowded streets of the city, trying to blend in, trying to disappear. She had managed to escape from Aarav’s world, but the memories clung to her like a shadow, dark and heavy. She couldn’t stop thinking about him, couldn’t stop wondering if he was okay, if he was still alive.
Every day was a struggle to push him out of her mind, to focus on her life, her studies, her future. But nothing felt the same. The city, once vibrant and full of life, now seemed dull and lifeless. The friends she had once laughed with seemed distant, their conversations meaningless. Even her family, who had been overjoyed to have her back, couldn’t fill the void that Aarav had left in her heart.
She hated herself for it. How could she feel this way about a man who had kidnapped her, who had turned her life upside down? But she couldn’t deny the truth. She missed him. She missed the way he looked at her, the way he protected her, the way he made her feel alive in a way she had never felt before.
But she had to move on. She had to forget him.
Or at least, she had to try.
As she turned a corner, she felt a shiver run down her spine. She stopped, glancing around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Just people going about their business, unaware of the turmoil raging inside her.
But the feeling didn’t go away. It grew stronger, a sense of unease that made her quicken her pace. She kept her head down, her heart pounding, as she walked faster and faster, trying to shake the feeling that someone was watching her.
And then she saw him.
At first, she thought it was her imagination, that her mind was playing tricks on her. But as she looked closer, her breath caught in her throat.
It was Aarav.
He was standing across the street, his eyes locked on her, his expression unreadable. For a moment, everything else faded away. The noise of the city, the people around her—it all disappeared, leaving just the two of them in a bubble of silence.
Siya’s heart raced as she stared at him, torn between the urge to run and the urge to go to him. What was he doing here? Why had he come for her? Was she in danger? Or was this something else, something deeper?
Before she could decide, Aarav started walking toward her, his steps measured and deliberate. Siya’s feet felt rooted to the ground, her mind spinning with a thousand questions.
When he reached her, he didn’t say anything at first. He just stood there, looking at her with those intense, unreadable eyes. Finally, he spoke, his voice low and filled with emotion.
“I couldn’t stay away,” he said, his gaze never leaving hers. “I tried, but I couldn’t. You’re in danger, Siya. And I can’t let anything happen to you.”
Siya’s heart pounded in her chest as his words sank in. Danger. Of course. She had known it, deep down. She had known that escaping him wouldn’t be that simple, that his world would find a way to reach her, no matter where she went. But there was something else in his voice, something that told her this wasn’t just about her safety. This was about them, about the connection they shared, the bond that had formed despite everything.
“What kind of danger?” she asked, her voice trembling.
“A big one,” Aarav replied, his eyes darkening. “My enemies are closing in. They know about you, and they won’t stop until they find you. I came to warn you, to get you out of here before it’s too late.”
Siya swallowed hard, the weight of his words pressing down on her. She had thought she was free, that she could go back to her old life. But now, she realized that there was no going back. Not without him.
“What do we do?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Aarav reached out and took her hand, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through her. “We run,” he said, his voice filled with determination. “But this time, we run together.”
