Yoko took a deep breath as she stepped onto the set. Five years. It's been five long years since she last saw Faye, and now here they were, about to work together again. She couldn't help but wonder how this would go-if they could really pull this off without things getting messy.
"Yoko, andito ka na pala."
Yoko turned to see the director waving her over. "Hi, Direk. Sorry, medyo traffic lang," she replied, forcing a smile as she walked toward the group gathered in the middle of the set. Her eyes immediately found Faye, standing with a script in hand. The moment their gazes met, something flickered in Yoko's chest-something she'd buried a long time ago.
Faye looked up at the sound of her voice, their eyes meeting for the first time in years. There was a moment of silence, the air between them thick with unresolved tension, before Faye gave a small, polite smile.
"Yoko," she greeted, her tone formal, almost distant.
"Faye," Yoko replied, her heart clenching at how strange it felt to be so formal with someone who used to mean everything to her.
The director clapped his hands together. "Alright, let's get started! I'm really excited to see the chemistry between you two again. It's been too long!"
As they positioned themselves, Yoko could feel the tension between them. It was the same kind of tension they had back when they first worked together, but now it was laced with a history that only the two of them shared.
The scene began, and Yoko fell into character. The chemistry that once made them the talk of the industry was still there, undeniable and electric.
But even as she delivered her lines, she couldn't help but notice the way Faye's voice wavered slightly, the way her eyes seemed to hold something back.
Is she thinking about it too? Yoko wondered, her mind momentarily drifting back to the last time they were this close.
After the scene ended, the director clapped his hands together. "Great job! Take five, everyone."
Yoko let out a breath she didn't realize she'd been holding. She watched as Faye walked off to the side, taking a sip of water.
Should I talk to her? she thought. But what would she even say?
Hey, Faye, long time no see. Remember when we broke each other's hearts? Fun times, right? She shook her head. No, better to keep things professional.
It wasn't just the breakup that haunted her-it was the way they had hurt each other, the things left unsaid. They had been so young, so in love, and so reckless. When their relationship crumbled under the pressure of fame and public scrutiny, it had been devastating.
But now, five years later, here they were. Older, wiser, and maybe... just maybe, ready to try again. Or at least that's what Yoko hoped. She didn't want to get her hopes up, didn't want to fall into the same trap.
But what if?
As the minutes passed, Yoko found herself walking toward Faye anyway, as if drawn by some invisible force. When she reached her, Faye looked up, surprised.
"Hey," Yoko said softly.
"Hey," Faye replied, her voice just as soft, almost hesitant.
There was a moment of awkward silence before Yoko finally spoke again. "It's been a while."
Faye nodded. "Oo nga. I never thought we'd end up working together again,"
"Me neither," Yoko replied, her heart pounding in her chest. "It's... surreal."
Faye nodded, staring off into the distance. "Yeah."
Yoko could feel the weight of the unspoken words between them-words they had left unsaid all those years ago. But now, standing here together, she couldn't help but wonder if maybe they could try again.
Could we make it work this time?
What are you thinking? Yoko wondered. Was Faye feeling the same uncertainty? The same pull to try again, despite everything?
As they stood there, the memories flooded back-late nights on set, stolen kisses in the dressing room, the way Faye's laugh used to make everything seem brighter. But those memories were tainted by the fights, the misunderstandings, and the eventual heartbreak that followed.
"What do you think, Faye?" Yoko asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "About us working together again."
Faye hesitated, her brow furrowing slightly. "Honestly? Hindi ko alam. It's... complicated."
Yoko nodded slowly. "Yeah, it is."
They fell silent again, both lost in their thoughts. Yoko wondered if Faye was thinking the same thing.
Can we do this without falling apart again? Is it worth the risk?
But neither of them spoke those thoughts aloud, too afraid to voice the vulnerability they were both feeling. The last time they let their guards down, it ended in disaster. Could they really risk that again?
Finally, Faye turned to look at Yoko, her expression unreadable. "I guess we'll just have to see how it goes, huh?"
Yoko met her gaze, searching for any sign of what Faye was truly feeling.
Are you willing to try again, Faye? But all she found was the same guarded look, the same uncertainty.
"Yeah," Yoko said, her voice soft. "We'll see."
As Faye gave her a small nod and walked back to their set, Yoko let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding.
Maybe this time... She shook her head, trying to push the thought away. Don't get ahead of yourself, Yoko.
But as she followed Faye back into the set, she couldn't help but wonder.
What if this time, it's different? What if we can make it right?
Only time would tell. And maybe, just maybe, this time, love wouldn't end like how it ended before.
