Y/N stared at Agent Carr, their heart pounding in their chest. The weight of his words pressed down on them like a physical force. This wasn't just some random act of sabotage; it was personal. The set, the accidents—they were all connected to Y/N. Somehow, they were the target.

Before Y/N could respond, Wanda stepped forward, her eyes glowing with a subtle red hue as her magic flared in warning. "You're not taking them anywhere," she said firmly, her voice a low growl. "If Y/N's in danger, I'm the one who will protect them."

Carr, unfazed by Wanda's show of power, sighed. "I understand that you want to protect your friend, Ms. Maximoff, but this is beyond you. My division is equipped to handle these kinds of threats. We've seen it before, and we've contained it before."

Y/N's eyes darted between Wanda and Carr, feeling the tension spike higher. The thought of being whisked away by some covert agency, treated like a lab rat under lock and key, sent a shiver down their spine. But at the same time, they couldn't deny the gnawing fear that maybe Carr was right—maybe there was something bigger going on that they had no control over.

"Wanda," Y/N said softly, placing a hand on her arm. Her magic crackled beneath their fingertips, but her eyes softened when she looked at them. "Let's talk about this, okay?"

Wanda didn't break her gaze from Carr for a long moment, her magic still simmering at the surface. But then, slowly, she let out a breath and the red light faded. She turned to Y/N, her expression torn between anger and concern. "Fine," she said quietly. "But I'm not letting him take you."

Carr stood by patiently, watching the two of them with calculating eyes. "I'll give you some time to discuss," he said, his tone clipped. "But this isn't a negotiation. The threat is real, and we need to act before it escalates." With that, he stepped back, leaving them with an unsettling reminder of his authority.

Y/N felt the knot of tension in their chest loosen slightly as Carr retreated. They turned back to Wanda, their mind swirling with questions, fears, and uncertainty. This was so far outside the realm of anything they'd ever dealt with before.

Wanda gestured for them to follow her to a quieter corner of the set, away from the prying eyes of the crew and Carr's looming presence. They found a small, dimly lit alcove near the back of the lot, surrounded by stacks of equipment and coiled cables. It was secluded enough that they could talk without being overheard.

Wanda leaned against a wall, crossing her arms over her chest. Her normally confident demeanor had given way to something more vulnerable—an uncertainty that Y/N hadn't seen from her before.

"So," Y/N said, leaning against a crate and rubbing the back of their neck. "You think there's any truth to what Carr's saying? That this is all somehow...my fault?"

Wanda's gaze softened as she looked at them. "It's not your fault," she said firmly. "Whoever is doing this—they're targeting you. That doesn't mean you caused it."

Y/N shrugged, frustration and fear bubbling to the surface. "I don't know, Wanda. I've been doing stunts for years, but nothing like this has ever happened before. Then suddenly you show up on set, and everything starts going wrong. Magic, rogue cables... Now, Carr's telling me I'm in the middle of something bigger, and I have no idea how or why."

Wanda stepped closer, her voice softer now. "I don't think it's a coincidence, Y/N. There's something going on—something that involves both of us. But that doesn't mean you're to blame."

Y/N looked down at the floor, feeling the weight of her words. They didn't want to be the cause of any of this chaos, but the more they thought about it, the more everything pointed back to them. "I don't know how to deal with this," they admitted quietly. "I'm used to jumping off buildings and crashing through glass, but this...this magic stuff? It's way over my head."

Wanda tilted her head, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Believe me, I know what that feels like. When my powers first manifested, I had no idea what was happening. I was angry, scared... I hurt people. But I learned how to control it—how to make sense of it. It took time."

Y/N looked up at her, the vulnerability in her words catching them off guard. "And now? You seem like you've got it all figured out."

Wanda laughed softly, shaking her head. "I don't have it all figured out. I'm still learning. Every day is a challenge. But the key is... I'm not alone anymore. I have people around me who help me, who believe in me. That's how I got through it."

Y/N smiled, feeling a sense of comfort in her words. "Guess that makes two of us, then. You've got your magic, and I've got my stunts. Two very different worlds."

Wanda's gaze softened, and she took a step closer, her hand resting lightly on Y/N's shoulder. "Maybe they're not so different," she said quietly. "We both put ourselves in danger to protect others. We both have something inside us that's bigger than we ever imagined. And right now, we're facing something together."

Y/N met her gaze, feeling a warmth spread through them at her words. "Yeah," they said softly. "Together."

For a moment, the tension between them eased, the weight of the situation fading as they stood there, side by side. It wasn't a solution, but it was a moment of connection—a reminder that they weren't alone in this.

But the reality of their situation soon crept back in, and Y/N sighed, running a hand through their hair. "So, what do we do now? Carr's not going to back off, and if this magic thing is really tied to me, it's only going to get worse."

Wanda's eyes narrowed in thought. "We don't let Carr take control. We stay ahead of him, figure out what's going on before he does. If there's a threat tied to you, then we need to trace it, find out who's behind it, and stop them."

Y/N nodded, feeling a surge of determination. "I can work with that. But if we're going to do this, we need to trust each other—completely. No more holding back, no more secrets."

Wanda's gaze held theirs for a long moment, and then she nodded. "Agreed. No more secrets."

Y/N felt a weight lift off their shoulders. For the first time since the chaos had started, they felt like they had a clear path forward—one they weren't walking alone.

As they turned to leave their small hiding spot, Y/N couldn't help but glance back at Wanda with a teasing grin. "You know, for a witch with reality-bending powers, you're pretty good at pep talks."

Wanda rolled her eyes, but there was a smile on her lips. "You should hear Steve Rogers."

Y/N smiles. "Well I haven't heard a speech from him, so I'm looking forward to your next pep talk."

"Don't get used to it."

Y/N laughed softly, the tension between them easing even further. But as they stepped back out into the open, reality hit them once more. Agent Carr was still waiting, watching them with those sharp, calculating eyes.

Y/N glanced at Wanda. "Ready?"

She nodded, her magic simmering beneath the surface once more. "Ready."
