The crisp desert air of Sumeru gently brushed through Tighnari's fur as he walked along the familiar path in Avidya Forest. His ears twitched at the subtle rustling of leaves—a sound that usually brought him tranquility. Today, however, his thoughts were elsewhere, drawn by an inexplicable tugging sensation deep within his chest. It was a primal instinct that had taken root from the moment he had first met Cyno.
"Ah yes," Cyno said with a self-assured grin. "My importantness!"
Despite not being an alpha by the conventional definition—and not being a hybrid—Cyno possessed a quality that stirred Tighnari's inner omega. It was not just his commanding presence or his quiet strength, but also his unwavering protectiveness and calm authority. These traits resonated with Tighnari's instincts, making him feel that Cyno was his mate. Even though Tighnari's rational mind struggled to fully understand why, he had learned to trust these primal feelings over time.
Their bond, though unspoken, was powerful. Cyno never treated Tighnari as fragile or lesser because of his omega nature; instead, he respected Tighnari's strength and intellect. It was this respect and acceptance that had drawn Tighnari's omega to him. He felt valued and seen for who he truly was, not merely for his biological role. This deep connection made all the difference.
Tighnari paused, glancing up at the sky. He knew Cyno would soon arrive for his routine patrols, and despite the weight of his own duties, the thought of seeing Cyno again brought a warmth to his chest. His ears perked up at the faint sound of Cyno's approaching footsteps—a sound no one else could detect. A smile tugged at Tighnari's lips. It seemed his instincts were always spot-on.

Far away in Inazuma, Gorou sat on a cliff overlooking the endless expanse of the sea. The wind tousled his sandy hair, but the vast horizon couldn't distract him from the ache in his heart. Itto was out on one of his usual adventures, and though they'd been apart for only a few days, Gorou felt a familiar pang of longing.
From the moment they had met, Gorou's inner omega had recognized Itto as his mate. It wasn't just Itto's imposing stature or his Oni heritage that marked him as an alpha in Gorou's eyes. It was also his infectious laughter, his passionate approach to life, and his fierce protectiveness that softened into tenderness whenever he was near Gorou.
"Me! The one and Oni!" Itto's boisterous laughter echoes through the theater.
Itto had a way of making Gorou feel secure, even amidst the chaos of battle. His strength extended beyond the physical; it was in the way he stood steadfastly by Gorou's side, dependable and unwavering. This profound sense of safety and grounding was what made Gorou's omega instincts resonate so deeply. Despite the tumultuous world around them, Gorou found a deep peace whenever he was with Itto.
Leaning back and closing his eyes, Gorou reflected on their bond. It transcended mere words or roles; it was an instinctual connection fortified by mutual respect and love. No matter the challenges they faced, Gorou knew they would always find their way back to each other. His omega had chosen wisely, and for that, he was profoundly grateful.
A familiar shout echoed in the distance, and Gorou opened his eyes with a smile. Itto was back, bringing with him the sense of completeness that Gorou always felt in his presence. Rising to greet his mate, Gorou's heart felt lighter than the wind that carried Itto's laughter to him.
Their bond was undeniable—instinctual, fated, and perfect in its own way.

The moon hung low over the city of Inazuma, casting a silvery glow over the bustling streets. Even amid the lively festival, there was a tension beneath the surface, an awareness of the invisible currents that flowed between individuals of different dynamics.
For Gorou and Tighnari, both omegas, that tension was always present—an instinctual pull and awareness of the people around them, tempered by their own control and self-awareness.
Gorou stood beside Tighnari, both of them keeping to the quieter edges of the festival. Their respective mates were nearby—Itto, the boisterous and strong Oni alpha, and Cyno, a formidable and steady presence despite not being a Hybrid or an alpha. Gorou's inner omega recognized Itto the moment they had met. His Oni heritage marked him as an alpha in every way that mattered. He was fierce and protective, and his presence felt like a solid wall of safety that Gorou could always rely on.
Tighnari, on the other hand, had always been more cerebral about the dynamic. His fennec fox instincts had been attuned to the subtleties of nature for as long as he could remember. When he first met Cyno, he knew. Something about Cyno's calm authority, his quiet strength, had spoken to Tighnari's omega instincts in a way he hadn't expected. Over time, his inner omega had come to see Cyno as a mate, not because of any biological imperative, but because of the trust and bond they had built together.
The festival's energy thrummed around them, but the two omegas remained centered, aware of their mates' presence even in the crowd. Despite the hierarchical nature of their world, Tighnari and Gorou had carved out a place where they could live true to themselves without being overshadowed by the expectations placed on them as omegas.
"I never quite get used to these gatherings," Gorou murmured, his ears twitching as he scanned the crowd. "Too many people, too many scents... It's overwhelming."
Tighnari nodded in agreement. His heightened senses were more attuned to the subtle shifts in the air, but even for him, the sheer volume of stimuli at these events could be exhausting. "I know what you mean. But Cyno and Itto seem to enjoy them, so here we are."
At that, Cyno and Itto smile gratefully.
Gorou glanced over at his mate. Itto was in the center of the crowd, laughing loudly and engaging in some kind of competition that involved arm wrestling. Despite his boisterous nature, there was an unmistakable protectiveness in the way Itto glanced back at Gorou every now and then, making sure he was still in sight, still safe.
Tighnari noticed the look and smiled softly. "He's always watching over you, isn't he?"
Gorou blushed slightly but nodded. "Yeah... It's comforting. His instincts are so strong, sometimes I wonder if he even realizes he's doing it."
"And Cyno?" Gorou asked, turning the conversation back to his friend. "Does he have the same instinctual pull?"
Tighnari thought for a moment. "Not in the same way. Cyno's not a Hybrid or an alpha, but... my omega recognizes him as a mate. It's more about how he makes me feel. Safe, seen, respected. That's what matters to me."
Gorou smiled at that. "I guess that's what makes it all worth it, isn't it? The instincts, the dynamics—they're part of who we are, but they don't define everything. It's the bond we share with our mates that really counts."
Tighnari nodded in agreement, a sense of calm settling over him as he spotted Cyno standing at the edge of the crowd, watching him with a small, reassuring smile. In that moment, Tighnari's inner omega purred with contentment. It didn't matter what society said about their roles or dynamics. What mattered was the connection they had built—one of trust, love, and mutual respect.
As the festival continued around them, Tighnari and Gorou found themselves grounded in the knowledge that, despite the societal expectations placed upon them as omegas, they had found something far more important: a sense of belonging with their mates, and the freedom to define their own paths in a world that often tried to dictate them.
