"Mr Potter, Mr Weasley and yes....Ms Jones, what do you have to say for yourself?" hissed the voice of the best professor in the world- Severus Snape. (Yes, I say that he was the best because those of you who have read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows should understand!*winks*)

But at that moment, I felt as if he were the worst possible nightmare in my life.

"Well professor, there was a slight...err, confusion on our way to Hogwarts which made us late. I'm so sorry, sir", I said quietly.

"Keep your mouth shut, Ms Jones. No one asked your opinion! and as you are the newest pupil here, I must ask you to keep your mouth shut."

Ron and Harry looked at Snape angrily and steadily, knowing that he wouldn't be able to hold his gaze for long.

"Severus?" someone called out from the door.

Quick as a flash, we turned around to find a stern faced, bespectacled lady in robes, gazing at all of us. Professor McGonagall to the rescue!

"Minerva", Severus' tone seemed challenging and not very happy, as he proceeded to talk his way out as to the kind of behaviour that we had displayed that night was somewhat impenetrable and could have caused much harm to the wizarding world; therefore we should be punished as severely as possible.

All this while, Professor McGonagall remained silent and it was not until Severus stopped than she started speaking. " I can assure you Severus, that these two young gentlemen are in MY house which only proves that it is my duty to see to what they do. You should leave them to me for the moment", she said. "And as for Miss Eliza, she should be taken to the Sorting Hat as soon as possible to sort her into a house. She seems quite tired out, after ....what happened today." Saying so, she led us outside, towards the Great Hall which was filled with students and other teachers.

"Potter, Weasley, please go on and join the feast. I'll join you in a minute", said Professor McGonagall.

"But Professor! What about Eliza?" complained Harry.

"Don't worry, she'll be there too." As the two boys ran off, the professor turned to me and spoke quietly, "Miss Eliza, I can see that you are a special and unique child. You are going to do many useful things in future. But remember, always use your powers for the greater good." And then, she walked away.

Golly! What was happening? Me, a special witch? What unique powers do I have? And she said something....about....the greater good or something...

My mind was full of these thoughts as I walked towards the Great Hall to join the most amazing feast in the world!
