Time passed by quickly and it was almost terrifying. Here I was sitting on the makeup table getting my makeup done. It was almost terrifying. My sister reassuringly hugged me rubbing my arms comfortingly. I was wearing a purple half saree with embroidery flowers. I had simple makeup on with a silver choker necklace and choker with pink beads. The jewelry and makeup was very simple and I wanted a simple half saree but My Veera was consistent on getting me a designer half saree with a huge function in a big auditorium. Of course because he had the money to do so. "Ammu don't worry everything will be ok. You just have to calm down. Take a deep breath and calm down. You are going to be fine bubba" she says and I smile. "Thanks Chechi" I said returning her hug. "Now come on your man must be waiting on stage" she says and I nod. She helps me up and I was being led to the stage where My Veera stood on stage with his back turned because he apparently all his relatives including my dear brother-in-law. Suddenly music started playing in the background and it was my Veera's favorite song. I got up on stage and tapped his shoulder and he turned around to meet my eyes and I chuckled watching his stunned expression. My father put my hand in his to make him pull me up and so he did. I stood close to him crossing my hand infront of my stomach. "You look beautiful My Pari" he said and I chuckled. "You are looking handsome yourself My Veera" I said and he chuckled. The functions started and my sister and her husband got on stage holding microphones in their. "Good morning everyone" she says and I chuckle. "So today is my beautiful sister Ammu's engagement party" she said. "She is my everything since we were children" she said. "We did everything together.... Including all kinds of mischief " "From stealing from candies now being in charge of each other's weddings" she spoke. "And I am Agneedath.... Ranvijay's brother. As you all know I am not someone that conducts events like these but Ranvijay and I used to be with each other since diapers. We did each and everything together.... He is my own brother.... Now my wife's sister is marrying his sister?" He says and everyone laughs. "To be fair I love my wife but having a taller version of her in the same house with extra anger issues scares me" Agneedath says in a serious tone and everyone laughs. Never knew my brother-in-law had such a humour. "Thank you SO much for falling in love with the sister of my wife that already creats so much mischief in the house" he says and my sister glares at him with playfullness.

"Just kidding Shiva I love you more than anything but the idea of my wife getting stolen from me scares me" he says and everyone laughs. "Ok Mr Agneedath that's enough of your speech" my sister says. I knew all of this was scripted for fun and I loved it. "all of that apart let's exchange the rings" My other sister. Ayushi. My mother's brother's daughter came in stage with a plate holding two rings and both of us takes it in our hands and wear it on our ring finger. "Anaya and Ranvijay are now officially engaged " my sister announced and everyone cheered while Jai hugged me kissing my forehead. "And you will officially be mine in 2-3 weeks My Pari" he said and I giggle. "You are an idiot you know?" "Only you would call me that" "That's a change right My Veera" I asked and he chuckled. "I guess that's why I am here in the first place huh?" He says and I smile. My smile drops seeing a familiar face among the crowd and I looked at my sister with a glare. My ex crush from when I was 15 years old. Jai looked at him and at me and it's as if a light bulb went off. "Isnt this the boy you had a crush on Pari?" He whispered in my ears and I nodded. He knows everything about my love life. Well a non existent one at that. "God what did you see in him?" He asked looking him up and down and I bite my lips trying not to laugh. "Jai that's not very nice is it?" I said. "I am honest ok?" He says and I chuckle. "Who invented him anyway?" "Guess who?" I said gesturing to my sister and he rolled his eyes watching her mocking smile. He gets up to the stage and Jai's arms tighten around my shoulder. "Hello Anaya" the man said and I smiled. "Hi Jacob" I said. "So...... I guess you moved on huh?" He asked looking at Jai who looked him up and down. "Why? Are you bothered by it?" Jai asks. Jacob chuckles. "Well for one thing I was her first love so if I hadn't rejected her I would be standing here" he says and Jai's eyes flashed with anger. He was about to lounge at him but I held him back. "Jacob you weren't my first love.... I never felt something so strong for you" I said and his face drops. "The confession wasn't for a relationship but for me to get over that attraction which I did.... And secondly even if you were my first love i would consider it as nothing more than a mistake. So your attempt in making my man insecure is not happening since there is not a chance that I will let that happen on my watch. So you can get going and food will be served. Thank you have a great day" I said smiling folding my hand. He looks back between both of us embarrassed and left. I turned to Jai who was staring at me with some sort of emotions in his eyes. "Stop being this perfect or I will never let you go Sweetheart". He said and I rolled my eyes chuckling. "There is no way I am leaving mister. You see this?" I said showing him my ring and he chuckled kissing the ring. It was a thin golden flower rose gold ring and Jai had the same pattern of the ring.
"Though...." He said covering my waist with the dupatta. "I don't like the fact he was staring at your waist" he said and I giggled. "Ok My bear...." I said rolling my eyes. "Come on let's go to the buffet" he said and my sister runs in wrapping her arms around mine and runs off. "Not having her until marriage Mr" she says and I giggle waving good bye to my future husband.
