Author's pov
Tara woke up to the warm rays of sunlight peeking through her window, casting a golden glow on her room. She stretched, feeling the softness of her bed and the gentle hum of her air conditioner. It was going to be a beautiful day.She tossed off her covers and swung her legs over the side of the bed, her feet dangling in the air. Her phone lay on the nightstand, buzzing with notifications. She smiled, thinking about her Instagram live session planned for today. She wanted to share her day with her followers, show them the real her. After a quick shower and dressing in a comfortable red dress, Tara settled in front of her vanity to do her hair and makeup. She hummed along to the music playing in the background, feeling carefree and light. As she finished her look, she grabbed her phone and headed to the living room. She adjusted the camera, making sure the lighting was perfect. With a deep breath, she began her live session
"Hey everyone, just wanted to share my day with you all!" she said, beaming at the camera. Her followers started pouring in, commenting and liking her video.
Tara chatted with them, sharing stories and laughter, when suddenly, she sensed a presence behind her. She turned, expecting it to be her sister or maybe her mom, but her heart skipped a beat as she saw two men standing in her doorway.Their faces were unfamiliar, their eyes cold and menacing. Tara's instincts screamed at her to be cautious, but she tried to stay calm, thinking maybe they were there for a wrong address or something."Who are you? What do you want?" she asked, trying to sound firm, but her voice trembled slightly. The men didn't respond, their gaze fixed on her with an unnerving intensity. Tara's mind raced, thinking about her family, her safety, as one of the men raised a flower pot, its shadow looming over her.
Sidharth, watching from his secret account, felt his heart racing, his mind screaming in horror as the pot came crashing down on Tara's head. Her eyes widened, her body crumpled, and the live session ended abruptly.
Tara's eyes fluttered open, her head throbbing with a dull ache. She was met with darkness, the air thick with the stench of decay. She tried to move, but a sharp pain shot through her temples, making her wince. The memory of the flower pot crashing down on her head came flooding back.
She was alone, her wrists and ankles bound to a rusty chair. The room was small, with peeling walls and a damp floor. A faint light seeped through a grimy window, casting a sickly glow on the space.Tara's gaze fell upon a small, rickety table beside her, with a glass of water and a plate of stale bread. Her stomach growled, but she was too scared to eat.She looked around, trying to take in her surroundings. The room seemed to be some sort of abandoned storage space. Old crates and boxes were stacked haphazardly, casting long shadows in the dim light.A faint hum of traffic echoed outside, and Tara wondered where she was. The sounds seemed to match the cacophony of Mumbai's streets. As she struggled to free herself, Tara's thoughts turned to that live video, "who has seen her getting kidnapped" The question swirled in her mind like a vortex, threatening to consume her.The door creaked open, and a figure loomed in the entrance. Tara's heart skipped a beat as a man stepped forward, his face obscured by shadows."Welcome, Tara," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "You'll be our guest for a while."Tara's eyes widened, her mind racing with fear. She was alone, injured, and at the mercy of her captors.
Tara's eyes locked onto the man, her mind racing with fear. As he stepped closer, the dim light revealed his features, and Tara's heart sank. It was Sidharth's father, his eyes cold and calculating. "You seem not to listen to me, Tara," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "Now it's time to face what's waiting for you."
Sidharth's father stepped closer, his eyes cold and calculating. "You seem not to listen to warnings, Tara. Now it's time to face the consequences."Tara's mind raced, trying to understand what he wanted. "What are you talking about?" she spat, trying to hide her fear.He smiled, a thin, cruel smile. "You were getting close to something you shouldn't have. You were poking your nose into things that don't concern you."Tara's thoughts flashed to her investigation, her research into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Sidharth's family. She had been getting close to the truth, she was sure of it.Sidharth's father leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "You should have stayed out of it"
