Lexi and I headed to the mall with the intentions of just window shopping and enjoying some McDonald's at the food court. Walking through the bustling corridors, we admired the colorful displays in the store windows and tried not to be tempted by the latest fashion trends.

While we strolled past a few clothing stores , lexi spotted this cute blue dress and went to try it on in the dressing room. As I waited for Lexi to try on the dress she had her eye on, I occupied myself by browsing through the oversized shirts. Lost in thought, I didn't notice someone walking in my direction until we bumped into each other. I stumbled back, apologizing quickly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there."

As I looked up to see the person i bumped into , my heart thumped faster at the sight of Sadie standing in front of me. I felt a momentary wave of nervousness wash over me, my eyes widening slightly as I realized who it was. I tried to compose myself, but it was difficult to hide the unexpected rush of emotions that coursed through me.

Hey, it's alright," Sadie said pleasantly, her face lighting up with a friendly smile. The sound of her voice made the butterflies in my stomach flutter even more intensely. "I wasn't watching where I was going either.

I chuckled , "I'm Rachel ,By the way , I messaged you on Instagram last night."

"Oh, wait, you're Rachel?" Sadie's expression brightened even more as she recognized my name from the Instagram message I had sent her earlier. "Nice to meet you. I'm Sadie, but you already knew that, huh?" She chuckled, and the sound of her laughter sent a warm shiver down my spine.

Our conversation was interrupted by someone calling out Sadie's name. I felt a flicker of disappointment as I looked up to see a girl approaching us, the same one from the picture I had seen on Sadie's Instagram. Her girlfriend.

The girl wrapped her arm around Sadie's waist, clearly making a claim, and looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

I decided to introduce myself to her girlfriend so there's no tension. "Heyy , I'm rachel," I said as I put on a fake smile.

Nicole smiled politely, but there was a hint of protectiveness in her gaze. She replied in a cool tone, "Hi, I'm Nicole, Sadie's girlfriend."

I could feel the tension in the air as the girlfriend made her presence known and established her relationship with Sadie.

Right on cue, Lexi called me over, rescuing me from the awkward situation with Sadie and her girlfriend. I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I excused myself, eager to escape the tense atmosphere. I cast one final glance at Sadie, feeling a mixture of attraction and disappointment before I quickly headed towards Lexi's voice.
