Before the Ever After

...What?

Everyone got out of the van, after Crypt parked it in the parking lot of the amusement park.
Everyone was really excited for the day.

They all quickly ran up to the ticket counter, and showed the lady their tickets.
They went into the gate that leads into the amusement park.

So far so good!
No one's dead yet.
Surprisingly.

"Okay, everyone, stick together." Crypt said, trying to keep everyone together and safe.
Of course Crypt would do that. He wants everyone to be happy.

But.. instead, Prince immediately ran over to the cotton candy stand.

"Prince!!"

Crypt and the others quickly ran after Prince, who was now at the cotton candy stand, buying cotton candy.
He seemed very excited for the cotton candy.

Prince LOVED cotton candy. No one really knew why.

Price was standing in front of the pink and blue candy stand, practically bouncing up and down, waiting for the cotton candy.

"Prince!" Crypt says in annoyance. "What are you doing?!"

"Getting cotton candy!" Prince says excitedly. "What else would I be doing?"

"We came here to ride the rides. Not eat all day.

"But everyone loves cotton candy!"

"..True. But we can do that later."

"But the guy already started making it!"

"Fine... But only this once."

"Yay!!" Prince says excitedly, turning towards the stand again and waiting excitedly for the cotton candy.

After a couple minutes, the worker came over to them with a huge stick, covered in a mountain of cotton candy.

"Prince..." Crypt said in a concerned tone of voice.

Prince, meanwhile was taking the cotton candy gently from the workers hand.

"Prince, wait!"

Prince stumbled back, not being able to carry that whole stick of cotton candy by himself. He stumbled back, falling back behind the game and snack stands. The others quickly followed, running after Prince. When they got behind the stands, they didn't find Prince, but instead they saw a staircase, leading underground.
They paused, not knowing what to do.

"Ow..." They heard Prince groan from the bottom of the staircase.

'Uh.. Ladies first." Newt said, and gently pushed Cosmo forward, implying that Cosmo should be the one to go down the staircase first.

"...Fine..." Cosmo mumbled, and slowly started going down the staircase.
She didn't say anything when going down, but as soon as she got to the bottom of the stairs, she immediately called for the others.

"Guys! I think you wanna come see this!"

The other shared a look, then slowly started following them down.
Once they made it to the bottom of the staircase, they all stood in shock. They knew the staircase was weird, but they didn't expect to see this.

They saw... a lab. An underground lab. It was very dirty, with cobwebs and dirt scattered everywhere, as well as broken pieces of class and knocked over tables and scattered papers. But some of the tables were standing, and had beakers and test tubes on them, filled with all sorts of substances in them. It looked like someone was experimenting there. But why did they find it, and no one else? It's clear this place has been here for a while, but if that was true then this place would be shut down. So why is it still up, and open to the public? This is very dangerous.
Cosmo was standing at the bottom of the staircase, with Prince standing next to her. Cosmo was supporting Price who has cotton candy all over him, and he also seemed to have a sprained ankle.

"Woah..." Bingus took a step forward into the seemingly abandoned lab. "Cool!" Bingus started to walk into the lab.

"Bingus, wait." Charlie said, grabbing Bingus's arm. "We don't know if it's safe!"

"Relax. I'm not going to mess with anything."

"Let us come with you, in case anything tries something." Tarcias walked next to Charlie, and stood next to him, holding Crypt's hand.

"Okay. Let's just go! It'll be fun." Bingus said, impatiently.

Charlie let go of Bingus's arm, and everyone started slowly making their way into the abandoned lab.
It was kind of cool. But they all knew it was dangerous, and wouldn't touch anything.
Right.
...
Right?

Well, apparently not.
Because Bingus, ever the curious one, went up to one of the tables and started mixing some of the substances together.

But the others were unaware of this happening. They were on the other side of the room, exploring the lab.

"Guys! I found a dead rat!" Cosmo said, with a smile on her face. She was sitting at one of the tables which seemed to habe a dead rat in a box, but it looked like it had wings. Maybe... Maybe the scientists here were experimenting on animals. There's a possibility they were trying to make a hybrid. It looked as if they were trying to give rats wings, which, in my opinion, is fucking terrifying.

"Cosmo, leave it alone. It could be diseased." Charlie said, while gently pulling Cosmo away from the dead rat.

"Fine..." Cosmo was kinda disappointed.

"Uh... Guys..." Bingus spoke up. "I think.. I messed up..." Bingus said slowly.

Everyone immediately turned to look at Bingus.
"Uhm..."
It turns out, Bingus had mixed too many strange substances together, and it started making very weird noises, and it started bubbling, looking like it was about to explode.

"Bingus! You said you weren't going to touch anything!!" Crypt hissed.

"Run idiots!!" Charlie said frantically, grabbing Bingus's arm.

Everyone immediately started to run up the stairs. But Prince, who fell down the stairs earlier, had a sprained ankle and couldn't run. Cosmo tried to help Prince, but she was too short to help.
Everyone turned back to try and help, but it was too late.

The lab exploded.
