(~Your POV + Time Skip~)
"Mom, that's the woman from the tv!"
.
"Why would she say such a thing?"
.
"A disgrace to her entire family line."
.
"No wonder her father kept it secret. She's mentally ill."The comments have just began and all I'm doing is try to get some food. It's late at night and I am dying for some comfort food. I walked into my favorite joint and this was the welcome I received. Ever since that day I've gotten all the dirty looks, the snarls, and the blunt insults.
'Well, this is how things are going to be from now on so you better get used to it.'
"We don't serve your kind here." The waitress says to me. I blink and give her a blind stare without realizing it.
'Did I mishear her?'
I decide to get clarification. "Pardon me?" "You support monsters, you join 'em too. We don't serve them here. Get out." She hissed. I feel the magic in my soul begin to boil. I've gotten quite tired of people acting like I'm nothing. My hand balls into a fist. The woman nods her head towards the exit, "Well? Go on!" As a councilwoman now, I could easily have some strings pulled and have this place shut down at the snap of a finger.
'Y/N, it's not what Father would've wanted.'
I force myself to dismiss the thought. Just because I have the power doesn't mean that using it is the right choice. Without saying another word, I turn and walk out of the door quietly. "Guess I'll have to find a new favorite joint." I mumble to no one but myself.
'It's so unfair. How could I have thought that I'd be able to change it?'
I look around, gathering my thoughts together. I still have to eat. I've previously heard about a bar that's not too far from here. I turn to the right and walk down the pavement sidewalk.
'Maybe I could try there before heading home.'
Most of downtown is closed at this hour. The only places you'll find open are bars, clubs, and places you really don't want to be around at night. I forgot to grab groceries so I'm at fault for putting myself here. I would've brought security but the council members believe that it is no longer needed. That just tells you how much they care about me.
'It was all a show before. Now, I'm on my own.'
I don't know why I didn't notice it sooner but there's a pair of footsteps approaching from behind me. Nothing special, unless you're me. I start walking faster. So does the person behind me. I can almost read the neon sign above the bar.
'I can make it-'
That was until I was harshly shoved into a nearby alley. I turned as quickly as I could, my back against the brick wall. I'm prepared to run. Or at least, I was. Before I could react, they drive an entire blade into my waist. Immense pain shocks through my entire body and I scream as loud as my lungs can allow. The attacker is dressed all in black and is mostly hidden underneath thick shadows. Rays from the neon light around the corner only show their sickening smile. "Feel that?" They ask in a gleeful whisper.
Of course I feel it. My soul is racing so fast. The pain in my abdomen is likened to being torn apart slowly. They begin to drive the blade further in. My soul goes into panic mode and sends more pain through my nerves to prove it. I scream again, tears streaming down my face.
'I need help. I can't die here!'
I put my hands around the blade and try my hardest to push back against it. I need it OUT of my body! I use my remaining strength to scream out, "Help! HeLP mE! PLEASE!!!" No one came. I wouldn't be surprised if no one heard or even cared about me being put through this literal torture. "You will DIE." My attacker growls. Now, they start to twist the blade inside of me. My screams turn into heavy sobbing. It hurts so bad.
'GeT aWaY!'
My HP is dropping. Meanwhile, my soul is on the verge of cracking due to stress. I'm going to die. Both my grip and my vision start to weaken. "Somebody..! Anybody.." My voice reduces to a hopeless mumble.
"HEY-" There was a low growl. The attacker turns, soon stunned as their soul hovers in front of them and turns cyan blue. A skeleton stands at the end of the alley as well as a man made from blue flames. The skeleton speaks again. One of his eye sockets has a bright ring of blue and yellow.
"Hey Buddy? Ya fixin' to have a BAD TIME..."
That is the last thing I can process before my legs give out. I slide down against the wall. My vision is darkening fast. I'm dying, and there's nothing I can do about it. My hand stays clutched around the knife in my body. The man of fire is soon in front of me. He's wearing a white button down shirt with formal slacks and suspenders. He speaks up, his hands shaking, "Oh god. Sans, she's been stabbed!" He puts his hand on mine as I weakly heave for air. Soon after, his attention is fully turned to me. "Miss! Miss, stay awake!" His request is futile.
The pain and the world was soon drowned out by the darkness. I warmly welcomed it.
