(~Your POV + Time Skip~)
'The bar is about to open. Where is he?'
I anxiously wait at the door for Grillby. He said he had to run some errands but I didn't expect him to take all day. If I had known, I would've offered to go with him. I have nothing to occupy myself with.
It wasn't long until a sharp click came from the door, signifying that it has been unlocked. Grillby steps inside with two large bags. I had to jump out of the way to avoid getting hit with the door. I tilt my head slightly at the sight of the bags, "Groceries?" "Sort of." He places the bags down on the nearest table. He starts unloading the contents.
'Fabric? Wait- Clothes.'
"My apologies, I had to guess your size." He states. I stare at him with a dumbfounded expression.
'He bought clothes.. for me? No wonder it took him so long. He had no clue what he was doing.'
I burst into a fit of laughter. I can imagine the poor thing looking through all the shops for me. "You should've just asked. I could've came with you." Grillby remains serious, stating, "I would prefer to keep you safe. C'mere and see if you like anythin'."
The next few minutes consisted of me sorting through clothes. He didn't do too bad at all. In fact, most of the clothes are a size bigger than what I normally wear. This works for me as I would rather wear something bigger than something smaller.
'When people wear things small and tight, it always draws the wrong attention. Something that I really don't want to deal with today.'
Grillby picked a few dresses, some dressy shirts, slacks, and other miscellaneous accessories.
'How much did he pay for all of this?'
(~Time Skip~)
We soon came to an agreement that whatever I don't like Grillby will donate to neighbors in need. I think that's very sweet of him. Going through the last of it, I find a nice button down shirt and matching slacks. At the bottom of the bag are some (f/c) suspenders.
Grillby is busy setting up the bar for opening. I turn around as he's wiping down tables. "Grillby, how did you know my favorite color? For the suspenders?" Grillby stays silent. At first, I assume he didn't hear me. "Um.. I just kinda guessed." I narrow my eyes slightly.
'Guessed, hm?'
(~Grillby's POV~)
'I hate having to lie to her.'
It's been quite an adjustment with learning Y/N is my soulmate. I found out about her favorite color through a very basic manner. Her soul told me. She can't really sense it yet but our souls are connected by a string of magic. Through that magic, our souls can communicate certain details, thoughts, and emotions to each other. Y/N has already felt this sensation before, evidenced by her finding out her soulmate, myself, am a monster.
I can see it on Y/N's face when she looks at me. She's confused because she knows stuff about me without me having to tell her. It's because of our soul bond.
"Oh.. well.. Thank you!" She takes the outfits into her arms and rushes upstairs. I let out a large sigh. Finally, my soul can begin to calm down. It gets harder and harder to stay in my right mind when she's around me. I want her to know so badly. My soul races each time we're close. However, my worst fear is letting her down. Heck- I could even scare her away by saying something.
