Alex POV:

Sprinting our rhe door, I feel jeffersons strong arms pull me back.
"Where are you going boy," he sputtered. I knew something was wrong.
"I made you a casserole." He purred.
I felt my cheeks go crimson, I looked to the floor and sighed.
"What are we gonna do Jeff"? I pleaded, he simply laughed.
"That's for me to know and you to find out."
"You always do this..."
"Hm?" he looked at me, genuinely puzzled.
"You know what, just forget it." I get up and run towards the town. I don't hear footsteps following.

Jedfersob POV:

For a while, I just stood there, mouth agape, struggilimg to comprehend what had just transpired.
Madison hasn't spoken to me since he saw us... together. I knew he couldn't just let it go, we would pay for this.

It was late, I had just crawled into the canopy when I heard something. It was coming from downstairs, and getting closer.
I had never had the pleasure of gracing the battlefield myself but I always prepared.
I dragged the musket out from underneath the wardrobe, cocked it, and oprned the dor.

As I tip-toed down the stairs, I saw what had happened. As if a torando had ripped through the saloon, the piano somehow knocked on its side.
Just as I brought my hand over my lipd in petrified anguish, a hand grasps my shoulder.
"How could you," He had tears in his eyes, blood on his sweating fists.
"How could you leave me out there?"
For the first time in my life, I couldn't find the words. I gazed at the floor in silence.

Alex grabbed a vase and slammed it to the ground. The air left my lungs as it shattered into a million tiny pieces.
"Alex w-what are you—"
"YOU LEFT ME OUT THERE TO DIE. THEY FOUND OUT ABOUT US. THEY ALL DID."
"Who?"
"THE OGRES👻!!! AND THEY'RE COMING FOR YOU NEXT"
I stared at him, incredulous- had he gotten into the Boston Gin I had stashed under the fridge?
"Are you drunk? Answer me Hamilton, how much did you drink??"
" Not a drop, the ogres will smell you if you do, I can't , WE can't risk that. Have you even been listening to me? HAVE YOU?!"
I began to back away until I hit the Matisse landscape begind me.
"You're scaring me Al, you're not making sense,
