Madison's POV:

George Washington's going home, but my carriage has just arrived. I had asked Jefferson to get closer to Hamilton but this is NOT what I had in mind. I should have known Thomas wouldn't have been able to control himself, but is only been gone for a month! No matter, I'll put an end to their "romance" as soon as I'm back at Monticello. Hamilton should stick to what is his, he might get hurt if he keeps playing with other people's toys.

.                                  .                              .

"Mr. Madison, is this your stop"?

"Yes, this is the place. Thank you for your services,"

I step out onto the cold familiar Virginia breeze. I'm finally home.

I enter the large mahogany doors of Monticello and I suddenly remember what I'm here to do.

Find Jefferson

The house is just as I left it, except I see Jefferson's purple overcoat tossed over the lounge. Where was he?

I walk through a few hallways dumbfounded as to where Jefferson could be when I suddenly hear a faint laugh.

Rough and scratchy, it didn't sound like Thomas's smooth, relaxing melody of a voice.

"Thomas let go!" The rough voice said playfully.

"Not until you give me one last kiss,"
Says a relaxed voice that could only belong to him.

My heart sinks.

No, it doesn't matter, we still need to expose their bond, it would ruin them both.

But my legs couldn't push me forward. As much as it hurt to hear him laugh that way with someone else, I couldn't do it.

I sigh and saunter away from the hallway to the front door.

Sudden I hear a lock click and footsteps stemming from the hallway.

"I really should get going, Eliza's waiting for me-

They both freeze as they catch sight of me.

While Hamilton looked shocked, Jefferson simply stares back at me with pleading eyes.

"James I- I didn't know you'd be back so soon,"

Jefferson manages to get out.

" I had some unexpected matters to attend to back home,"

As the words leave my mouth my eyes stay focused on their hands, entwined tightly.

It stings.

Too much.

How did I ever convince myself I'd be ok with this?

No I can't- I won't.

I have to destroy him.

He took away the one person who listed to me.

Who understood all I wanted to do.

And now it was as if we'd never even spoken to each other.

I gave Jefferson one last look to say all I wanted to explain, but simply couldn't.

He simply looks down, then at Hamilton's eyes and smiles.

"While I guess that's it then,"

"Madison wait-"

"I'll see you in tomorrow's headlines."
