Unexpected love

I put the plate in the table and I go back to the kitchen to make some salad. He finished the pasta and started to put them into the plates. I also did the salad and we both sat at the table. It was such a lovely sight outside. It was a little bit later than the sunset and the sky still had some dark pastel colors. You could notice the city lights from afar. He turned on the TV and put some light music on.

"It's an habit of mine. I always enjoy my dinner with some music on." He said while coming back to the table.

It looked to me like he was asking for my permission to keep it on, little did he know that I also like some light music while eating. It made me feel like I was having dinner with someone and I was not all alone.

"I understand, - I said while taking my first bite, - it's delicious. You cook very well." I said to him, while taking another bite. One thing about me is that I will always appreciate good food, no matter who does it for me. And to be honest, he is such a great cook. It would cost a lot to eat this plate in a restaurant, judging by the fact that even the plate looks clean and perfect. I guess he is a perfectionist. Hmm.

"Thank you. Emily says the same. She always asks me to cook, even though there are many servants in the house. She says I have a type of flavor that no one can repeat. Tchh." He says while smiling and lowering his head.

"I can totally imagine her saying this. She is very expressive. I hope she will never face situations that will change the way she is, cause she is perfect like this. She is funny and very smart. During the wedding she was explaining to me something regarding her school project and I could tell that she is very smart cause of the way she was thinking and studying the topic. Since the first moment I met her, I could tell that she would be a great CEO in the future." I proudly say, like she is my sister and not his. I raise my head and I notice that he was staring at me. But this time he has a very tender look in his eyes. I guess he really loves his sister.

"Yes, I think the same. To me she is the most extraordinary person that I have ever met. Huh..I love her to much. Sometimes I think that the reason why I have never loved any woman is because I used all my love within me on her."

He said he never loved a woman before. Why did he say that? Being a CEO, a handsome man, a very good opportunity for women out there and he has never loved any? Oh...right. I was thinking that he meant the same as me, he has never been in a relationship, but I forgot that people can date even without loving each other. As long as they like one thing, they can date very easily.

Sometimes I wish I could be like them. Date so easily. Perhaps I could find true love like that, by getting to know them through time. But no, cause I am scared it may not work out and I do not want to kiss someone that would not be my only man in this life. Cause of this, I ended up marrying someone I do not even know. Ironic, isn't it?

"This Friday we need to attend an event, - he said while taking some other bites, - it is very important for me. Since I am going to attend, your presence is needed. There will be journalists present and this is our first attending as a couple. Their focus may be on us. Even though I doubt, judging the kind of event that will be."

Did he say Friday? No... it is not possible for me. The most important event of my life will be that day and I can not go with him if it is in the time of my event.

"Is my presence really needed? I am afraid I can not attend, if it is after 18:00."

He put down his fork and looked at me.

"Yes, your presence it is needed. I told you the press is waiting for our exclusive photos taken as a couple after our marriage. Plus it will be good for you to attend. One of the best architectural firm is opening their office in our city. I have been waiting for this moment, since I got to know them. It will be good for you. You can learn somethings."

Oh...I lower my head and smiled. He meant my event. Good, this makes things easier. Wait... did he say he has been waiting for this?
