1st Anniversary Gala

I let out a puff of air as I looked at the news article. I glanced around the table at the other heads of True Power who were analyzing the invitation as well. Damian and Jasmine had requested feedback for the entire design process, including invitations.

I rather be working on the music setlist.

I drummed my fingers on the table, watching Malachi, Ryker, Liberty, Kenzie, and Yelena looking over everything.

Getting more and more bored every second, I willed True Mist, my favorite power thus far, to conceal my injecting.

But, Damian knows everything.

"A27."

All heads raised then turned to me. I sighed, knowing I had been caught. My brother held out his hand.

"Syringe and all vials, please."

I snarled, but reached into my coat pockets, tossing the syringe across the table, and four vials appeared in Damian's hand.

"Thank you. Now, lest you get too bored, what are everyone's thoughts so far?"

Malachi cast a disappointed look in my direction, earning a glare, and then he cleared his throat.

"Well, Damian, I think I speak for everyone when I say nothing needs to be changed."

"Agreed," Yelena's strong Russian accent added. "Although, I do want to see the music set list."

Once again, eyes turned to me. I scoffed.

"Well, I'd 'love' to," I growled, my mask appearing, "but I've been stuck in this damn meeting for an hour and a half!"

I stormed out, too pissed to even teleport.

"A! Come back! A!"

I sighed in annoyance as my boyfriend tried to catch up. For some reason, it reminded me of my ex.

Nick...

"A27!"

I shook myself out of the past and waited for Malachi to catch up. He raced towards me, then once he caught up, he rested his hands on his knees, panting heavily.

"You...are...an.. ass..hole," he gasped out.

I rolled my eyes. Tell me something I don't know.

"A27," Damian's voice boomed over the loudspeaker.

Malachi glared at the loudspeaker. "Really? Now you say something?"

I smirked, then headed back to Damian's office, already knowing what my boss would say.
