Sarah's pov:

"I want you to let Jace go."

Aiden did a double take at me. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah." I nodded. "Let Jace go."

He nodded at the guards to open the cell. I watched as they walked in and grabbed a surprised looking Jace.

My father immediately got on all fours as he tried to shift thinking he could escape. We all watched in silence as he sat there with his eyes closed grunting.

When Jace was out and the cell was locked again, my dad was still on all fours trying to shift.

It was silent for a few seconds before I burst out laughing. Everybody stared at me as I buried my face in Aiden's chest trying to hide my giggles.

"What's so funny?" He asked smiling at me.

I looked up at him trying to explain but the image of my dad on all fours with his eyes closed and grunting came into my mind again making me burst into another fit of giggles.

I tried to settle down and picture something not so funny so that everyone would stop staring at me.

But I looked over at my dad who was in the same position as before and pointed at him laughing again.

Once Aiden and the guards realized what I was laughing at, they joined in but I think it was more for my benefit.

It may not seem that funny, but just think of your father in a awkward position like that and try not to laugh or think of something really sexual.

"Can we leave now?" I asked Aiden calming down a little bit.

"What would you like me to do with your parents though?"

I thought about it for a second and came up with nothing. "I don't know. I'll think about it."

"Okay." He nodded. "Let's go."

We started our walk back to what I assumed is the pack house with Jace and two guards behind us. As Aiden was about to walk inside I grabbed the back of his shirt signaling him to stop.

He turned around to face me raising an eyebrow in question.

"I want to talk to Jace for a minute." I explained. "Alone."

"No." He immediately said. "Absolutely not."

"Aiden," I started. "I just want to ta-" He cut me off before I could finish.

"I assume he's hurt you before, right?"

I just looked at the ground not answering.

"Exactly. I'm not leaving you alone with him."

"Aiden that's not fair." I argued.

"I don't care if it's fair or not. I'm your Alpha so what I say goes and that's the end of it."

"We're supposed to be equals." I said.

"Leave us." He said to the guards. "And bring him with you. Keep a close eye on him."

They nodded before walking off.

He turned to me. "I'm the Alpha of this pack and your Alpha. You haven't joined my pack yet so you're not even Luna of my pack yet. But when you are, you will still do as I say. I won't have you disrespecting me in front of my pack members like you just did. If you do, I won't hesitate to break our mate bond. I don't want to, but it's not like I don't have plenty of girls lined up for me anyways."

I stared up at him in shock and hurt not knowing what to say. I knew it was too good to be true to have a mate that wants me. I should've known better. The familiar painful feeling in my chest was back again.
