Spencer smiled down at his phone as he now got constant updates from his boyfriend. Sam told him about their hunts and what city he was in, and Spencer would respond with random facts that he knew about said cities. He even talked to Dean occasionally, too, since sometimes Dean would just take the phone from Sam and just tell him how lovely dovey he had been. Spencer has also helped Sam with some cases as Spencer had already read about ⅓ of the books Sam told him about. But now he just tried to work the best he could but couldn't stop thinking about Sam.

“What has Dr. Reid smiling so much?” Elle asked as she sat down at her desk making Spencer's face flush as he tried to hide his phone which was hard considering that he had his sling on to prevent him from pulling the stitches on his shoulder.

“Nothing. I’m just thinking about a scientific journal I want to read later.” He lied, but Elle just laughed.

“Sure you are.” She said.

“Pretty Boy, do you have a special someone who is distracting you from your work?” Morgan joked, making Spencer look at him partially annoyed.

“I don’t get distracted.” Spencer said.

“Okay. But really? Is it some nurse from when you were in the hospital?” Morgan asked, making Spencer shake his head.

“You know that this is very inappropriate.” Spencer said matter-of-factly making Elle and Morgan laugh.

“What are you guys talking about?” JJ asked as she walked into the bullpen.

“We’re trying to figure out who Reid is texting that is making him smile so much.” Elle said.

“You guys are terrible. Can’t you see I’m injured?” He said, trying to gain sympathy points before his phone rang. He was confused because it was an unknown number, but he still answered. “This Dr. Reid speaking.” He said and heard a whistle from the other side.

Damn, Spencer. Sam didn’t tell me you were a doctor.” Dean’s voice rang out, making Spencer look confused.

“I’m surprised he didn’t tell you I have 3 PhDs, but why are you calling me?” He asked, confusing the others as Spencer had never really spoke like that.

So, Sam is normally my research person, but Sam is on his way to California to look for our dad.” Dean said, making Spencer somewhat worried.

“I’m sorry you're telling me that Sam is walking to California, and you let him.” He said, looking angry, which surprised the others.

Sam is a big boy. He can take care of himself.” He said, making Spencer sigh annoyed.

“Okay, so what did you want me to ask me?” He asked.

I wanted to ask if there is some sort of Pagan ritual that involves a scarecrow thing and human sacrifice?” He said, making Spencer sigh.

“How many people?” Spencer asked.

Two. Man and a woman, every year for… at least 20 years.” He said, making Spencer sigh as he stood up and walked away from the bullpen to an empty restroom that he knew no one used.

“I don’t think it will be Pagan. That sounds more like Norse Mythology. The Norse God Vanir is linked to wisdom and fertility, but it requires an annual sacrifice of a male and female.” Spencer said.

Thank you, Dr. Genius. No wonder my brother loves you. Anyway, I'm gonna deal with this. Can you call Sam to ask if he's okay?” He asked.

“I will. Bye.” Spencer said before Dean hung up. Spencer felt a little annoyed at his boyfriend's antics but called Sam. It took a few rings for the call to connect before he heard Sam's voice. “Care to tell me why you are walking to California?” Spencer said.
