The aftermath of CC’s death had a ripple effect that extended far beyond the Afton household. Fredbear’s Family Diner, once a bustling hub of joy and laughter, had become a place of darkness and tragedy. The incident had tarnished its reputation beyond repair, and the whispers of negligence and danger had driven families away. It wasn’t long before the doors were closed for good, and the cheerful façade of the diner became a haunting memory.

William Afton, once a man of ambition and dreams, found himself descending into a spiral of bitterness and blame. The loss of his son, the strain on his family, and the closure of his prized business—all of it festered inside him, warping his thoughts and feeding a growing darkness within him. But William wasn’t ready to give up on his dreams, not yet. He still had plans, ideas that had been brewing in the back of his mind even before Fredbear’s Diner had fallen apart.

It took a few years, but eventually, William Afton and his business partner, Henry Emily, managed to rise from the ashes of Fredbear’s Diner. They opened a new establishment, one that they hoped would recapture the magic of the original but with more advanced technology and a fresh set of characters. Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza was born, and with it, a new era began.

The old animatronics from Fredbear’s Diner were buried—both figuratively and literally. William had made sure of that. He wanted to leave the past behind, to create something new and exciting, something that would erase the stain of Fredbear’s Diner from his name. The new animatronics—Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate—were state-of-the-art, equipped with the latest in robotics and AI. They were meant to be the stars of the show, to bring joy to children and families once more.

But beneath the surface, the cracks in William’s psyche were beginning to show. The darkness inside him was growing, fed by his unresolved grief and guilt. He blamed Michelle for what had happened to CC, and though he never spoke of it, the resentment he felt towards her only grew with each passing day. Their relationship, once close and loving, had become strained to the point of breaking.

The Aftons visited Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza during its grand opening, but the visit was anything but joyful. William, who had once been so proud of his work, now moved through the pizzeria with a cold detachment. He barely spoke to his family, his mind clearly elsewhere. Michelle felt the weight of his silence more than anyone. She could feel his gaze on her, could sense the blame that lingered in his heart, and it only deepened the rift between them.

She wandered through the brightly lit restaurant, the cheerful music and colorful decor doing little to lift the heaviness in her chest. Everywhere she looked, she was reminded of CC—of the life that had been lost, of the family that had been shattered. Her mother tried to put on a brave face, but Michelle could see the cracks in her facade. They were all just going through the motions, pretending to be a happy family when in reality, they were anything but.

And then there was Jacob.

Jacob had taken a job as the night guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. It wasn’t exactly the career he had envisioned, but it allowed him to be close to Michelle, to keep an eye on her and to make sure she was okay. He had watched her struggle for years, had seen the toll that CC’s death and her father’s coldness had taken on her. He couldn’t bear to be far from her, not when he knew how much she was hurting.

His first night as the night guard was uneventful, the animatronics functioning as they were supposed to—cheerful and entertaining during the day, and still and silent at night. There was no sense of danger, no hint of the horrors that would eventually come to pass. But even so, Jacob couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off, that there was a shadow lurking just out of sight, waiting for the right moment to strike.
