When Paul brought Stacy home, it was hard for her to let go since she's grown so attached to her vampire friend/brother, even though she still doesn't know about Paul and his brothers being vampires yet.
"I'll miss you, Paul," Stacy said as Paul helped her off his motorcycle.
"I know baby girl," Paul said, "But it's just for a little while and I told you that I would come see you later tonight."
"Okay," Stacy said. The two shared a hug that lasted for several moments.
"Don't forget Tod," Paul said giving Stacy her stuffed fox.
"Thank you," Stacy said, "Bye Paul."
"Bye Stacy," Paul said. Then he left on his motorcycle as Stacy waved good bye to him until he was out of sight.
When Stacy got into the house she was greeted by her cat, Gracie, who rubbed against her legs, but she was only greeted by Nanook, who was currently barking at her like she was a total stranger. In response, Gracie hissed at Nanook, which was unlike Gracie to do.
"Hey Sam, get your stupid dog," Stacy called out, but he didn't come.
Stacy just sighs and picks Gracie up in her arms. She then goes to the kitchen to find her mom, who is cooking.
"Hi Mom," Stacy greeted her mother with a hug.
"Hi honey," Lucy said, "How was your sleepover?
"It was fun," Stacy answers, "I really like Laddie and his brothers are really nice too, especially Paul."
"That's good to hear," Lucy replied.
Grandpa then came in rubbing his hands, "Hey smells good, when do we eat?"
"I told Max 8:00," Lucy answers.
"Max," Grandpa complains, "Are we going to have company again?"
"Again?" Lucy repeats, "Dad you haven't had company in this house since Mom died eight years ago."
"Right now we're gonna have company again," Grandpa responds.
Stacy was afraid to ask but she did anyway, "Who's Max?"
"My new boss," Lucy answers.
Stacy then remembered what Sam said. "Is he the man who you also went on a date with?" Stacy asked.
"I was going to, but your brother got scared of a comic he was reading, so I ended up running out on him," Lucy asked.
"This is why I don't read any comics," Stacy responds.
Seeing Michael, Lucy said, "Michael, Max is coming to dinner I'd like you to meet him."
"I can't I have plans," Michael said and then walked away.
Stacy, who was glaring at her brother the whole time, mutters, "Yeah plans with Star. Airhead."
"Oh Michael," Lucy frowns taking a taste of the sauce, "You know things are going to change around this house when school starts."
"Need any help Mom?" Stacy asked.
"No thank you honey," Lucy answered.
After Grandpa left the kitchen, Stacy asked her mother, "So what's Max like? Is he anything like Daddy?"
"Stacy you know I don't compare your father to other men," Lucy responds, "But I will admit Max is very...nice and understanding. I really do like him."
While Stacy felt awkward about her mom dating she knew that her mother deserved to be happy and he sounded like he is kind to her mother.
"As long as you're happy," Stacy said and then nuzzles Gracie as her cat purred in content, "I missed you so much."
Then a man with light brown hair, brown eyes and glasses walked in with his hands behind his back. He was a white striped shirt, white dress pants, a colorful tie and a white jacket.
He must be Max. Stacy thought. He seemed nice, but Stacy could sense there was something unusual about him.
"Hello," Max said to Lucy.
"Oh hi I didn't hear you come in," Lucy said with a smile.
"Is it alright for the guest to see the food before dinner?" Max asked.
"Oh no, you're thinking of the groom not seeing the bride before the wedding," Lucy corrected him.
"Oh yeah I always get those confused," Max comments.
"Hello," Stacy said making her presence known.
"Oh Max this is my daughter Stacy," Lucy introduces her daughter.
Max turned his attention to Stacy. "Hello Stacy," Max said smiling and offers her his hand, which she took. Gracie, who was looking at Max, gave a low hiss at him.
"Gracie doesn't seem to like you very much," Stacy notes.
"She probably smells my dog on me," Max replies. Then turning his attention back to Lucy Max gives her bouquet of flowers and says, "Thorn sends his apologies."
Lucy smiles and replies, "Oh well tell him I'm walking again." Both Lucy and Max laugh a little.
"He promises to behave if you come back," Max said.
"Oh....that's..." Lucy stutters. Max then kisses her.
Stacy frowns and thinks to herself. Why do I feel there's something not quite right about him? I better tell Paul about this when he comes.
"Mom," Sam announces interrupting the kiss, "These are my dinner guests, Edgar and Alan. The Frog Brothers."
"Hey aren't you from the comic book store?" Stacy asked, recognizing them. Alan nods.
"Oh I didn't know you were having guests," Lucy said surprised.
"Well Mom you know if we're in your way we can go eat some peanut butter out of the jar in the kitchen," Sam states.
"No, no... there's plenty for everybody," Lucy replies, "Oh, Max, this is my son, Sam and uh Edgar and Alan Frog?"
The Frog Brothers nod with a mmhm.
"Well this should be interesting," Stacy whispers to Gracie.
