In the quiet room filled with the faint beeping of machines, Smriti lay on the hospital bed, clutching the quilt, her mind drifted back to the day she left her three young sons with her husband due to her shelfishness. She could still remember their tear-stained faces as she walked out the door. She had a beautiful loving family, but she ruined everything by herself.

Her thoughts drifted to memories that flickered through her mind like an old film reel. The laughter of her children rang out in her ears, the delightful chaos of family dinners. Each memory brought warmth, but also an ache of longing for the moments she would never see again. Her chain of thought break when her daughter Kiara shook her lightly.

"Mumma"Kiara's voice was filled with worries.
"Mom, I know this is tough, but you're going to be okay."

Smriti smiled lightly and asked weakly "How do you know?"

"Because you have to, Mumma." Kiara sighed and start speaking,
"Ma, Maybe I will never be able to forgive you, because of you I had to live away from Papa and Dada but I can also not forget that you are the most strong lady, I came across When you left home,we had nothing, But I have seen you working hard day and night to fulfill your dreams and prove yourself. Without getting tired, you used to take care of me and also do your work." Kiara was pouring her heart out, her eyes glistening with tears. She was trying her best to not cry.

Smriti's eyes were also filled with tears, she was about to say something when a ward boy entered into room. "Please let the patient rest."

"okk"

"Kiara, go to house"

"But mumma."

"Please Kia"

"ok,bye. I'll come soon." Kiara kissed her mother's forehead and moved out of room.

After One Hour:

Smriti was awake now and looking outside from window, the sun was slowly making its descent, casting golden rays. She suddenly started feeling something, that feeling was like a reminder that her time in this world was drawing to a close.
She immediately looked towards door, it was like, she is waiting for someone. Her eyes held eagerness, seeing nobody there she sighed and she closed her eyes. After few minutes the door creaked open, Smriti opened her eyes and
found herself surrounded by those same boys, now grown into men. They stood in front of her, their faces etched with lines of worry.

"A.. Anant" her voice, weak but resolute.
She reached out to her eldest son, her fingers were trembling slightly, longing to connect with him, to comfort him, even as her own heart broke. Anant was her first child, she was always more connected to him.

Anant sat beside her and took her hand. His grip was firm but tender.

"I'm sorry, Anu. I haven't been the mother you three deserved." Anant stayed silent.
"I don't have much time left,beta."
