The Yule Ball

As Anna was lying down on the bed, thinking about how the Yule Ball is gonna be like, how her and Lui gonna live through that day. It was only a few days away. What's worse is that she doesn't know who she's gonna go with. Does Lui ever had a plus one to go to the ball with? Surely he has, right. As Anna was thinking about it all, she didn't even realized Gabe was watching her. And once she snapped out of it, she was a bit startled by it.

"Gabe?! Anna said as she sat up. "How long have you've been here?"

"I just made it." he said. "What's was all that you just did?"

"Huh?" Anna replied tilting her head.

"You looked like you were lost in your own thoughts." Gabe said.

"Oh. My bad. I didn't realize it." Anna said scratching the back of her neck.

"You seem pretty intense." Gabe said. "Don't tell me you're nervous about the Yule Ball now are you?"

"Me? Worried? Yeah right." Anna said acting all confident. "I would never."

"Yeah, I thought so." Gabe said. "It's okay to be nervous you know." 

"Not for Lui Shirosagi." Anna replied.

"Even you're allowed be be nervous sometimes." Gabe said. "Worrying is okay for people. Or more like wizards and witches for us."

Anna knew Gabe had a deep point about it. Obviously she knew it, but she had to play along with is as Lui. "You're probably right." she said.

Gabe smiled by it a bit. "Well. You got time to think about it." he said as he stood up. "I'll be right back. Who knows. Maybe this year you'll find a lucky boy you might like and ask out." Gabe said as he winked and went down the stairs.

"Lucky boy?" Anna asked herself. "What did that mean?"

She heard it right, did she? Gabe said a boy, not a girl. Was there something she didn't know, but they did? She shakes her head trying to get it out of her mind. That's when Shards showed up this time.

"What were you and Gabe talking about?" she said as she stepped in.

"Oh don't tell me you were eavesdropping on us?" Anna said sounding sarcastic.

"Am I not allowed?" she asked. "Was that some kind of secret of yours then?"

"As if." Anna said. "You should know it."

"You're right, I know. I heard it all after all." Shards said as she took a seat next to Anna on the bed. "So is it true?" she asked.

"What's true?" Anna said all confused.

"That you're nervous about the ball?" Shards said.

"What? No, of course not!" Anna said.

"Whatever." Shards said. "So you still can't find anyone to go with?"

Anna shakes her head by it.

"What a shame. Guess you have to go with me again huh?" Shards said as she raised a smirky eyebrow to her.

That then clicked to her. So was Shards always the one Lui went to the ball with? Since he didn't have anyone else to go with? Anna sighed as she nodded.

"Well I guess I have to." Anna said.

"I thought so. I did wonder maybe you were gonna go with Gabe." Shards said as she stood up.

"Gabe? Why do you think that?" Anna said all confused.

"You like him, don't you?" Shards said as she gave a wink and smirk to Anna.
