SONG: LOVE - Kendrick Lamar

Nat's eyes fluttered open, the events of last night rushing back and making her smile softly. She snuggled closer into Tom's embrace, feeling his arms instinctively tighten around her.

For a moment, Nat remained still, enjoying the warmth and security of his hold. She carefully turned to face him, gazing at his peaceful expression and the faint smile playing on his lips. As time passed, she grew restless and decided to wake him. Gently, she placed feather-light kisses on his nose, forehead, and both eyelids.

Tom's smile widened as he slowly woke, his eyes meeting Nat's with a mixture of sleepiness and joy. "Good morning my beautifulest." he murmured, his voice still thick with sleep.

Nat's laughter was soft and warm. "Good morning." she replied, leaning in to kiss him again, this time on the lips. "You were smiling in your sleep," Nat said playfully, her eyes twinkling. "I had to wake you up to find out what was making you so happy."

Tom stretched out his arms, pulling her closer and burying his face in her neck. "I must have been dreaming of you," he said, his voice a gentle rumble against her skin. "Waking up to you is even better."

Nat sighed contentedly, wrapping her arms around him.

They lingered in their embrace, savoring the quiet intimacy of the moment. The morning light filtered softly through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over the room. For a while, the world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them cocooned in their own perfect bubble of warmth and affection.

"Have you thought about our next dance, darling? Any idea what song you'd like?" Tom asked as he set their full plates down on the dining table. He handed Nat a spoon and took his seat across from her, a soft smile tugging at his lips as she glanced up at him.

"I'm not sure yet," Nat said, stirring her soup thoughtfully. "I was thinking of something a little more upbeat this time."

"Maybe something by your favorite artists?" Tom suggested, trying to be helpful.

"I'd love to use one of their songs for our last dance, but I'm not sure which one. Maybe we can sit down tonight and figure it out together. This dance, and the final one too."

Tom's eyes lit up. "Show me your playlist."

Nat got up, heading to the kitchen counter, where her phone was plugged in. She unplugged it and handed it to Tom, settling back down in her seat.

He scrolled through her music, his brow furrowing in confusion. "Hmm... how about The Neighbourhood?" he asked, half-guessing. Nat laughed, recognizing that Tom was hopelessly lost in the sea of unfamiliar names. He only knew The Neighbourhood because she'd played their songs a few times in the car.

"I love them, but they don't really have any jive-worthy songs."

Tom chuckled, handing her phone back. "Well, I might have to google some suggestions because, truth be told, I don't know who majority of these people are."

"They're pretty famous, Thomas!" Nat laughed, shaking her head. "Billie Eilish won an Oscar, for crying out loud! And how have you never heard of Mac DeMarco?" She teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Tom grinned, watching her with that same adoring look he always gave her. But his smile faltered slightly as he stood, placing his empty plate into the dishwasher. He walked toward the sofa, sighing as he stretched out and closed his eyes.

"I'm too old for this," he muttered, almost to himself.

Nat frowned, following him to the living room. "You're not old," she said, her voice firm, as if defending him from an insult. "You just have different taste, sweets."
