Every single step towards independence will  unleash the layers of your fears,
And then one day you would probably
Wear the armour of bravery,
Only then you could recognise the taste of
Freedom
Unless then everyone is under the cage..

Subhadra swayed her limbs through the water, covering the passing tides to reach in front of them, making ripples in the saline water and giggling profusely. She had watched the tides from afar, from the shore where she sat gloomily thinking about her future, and from her window where she would watch them while her family chatted with each other. Now, when she had the chance to match her speed with the same tides, she couldn't control her joy.

Dancing like a mermaid in the ocean, she swam again and again in the shades of blue water. The water in the sea felt warm as the rays of sunlight cast a golden glow on it, and she glistened like a gem in the sparkling sunlight. Subhadra gazed at the blue sky as she floated on her back, watching the drifting clouds move lazily in rhythm, making her giggle. She imagined herself as a cloud, wandering alone in the sky lazily, showering herself in the form of rain, and reaching the ocean as water to form a cloud again.

Ecstatic thoughts filled her mind. As the cloud passed her way, she closed her eyes. Away from the prying eyes of soldiers and the golden palace built for her safety, she had come a long way. The sea had engulfed her fears long ago. It gave her the stability and freedom nobody else could offer, and that made her happy. Balaram had ensured she could live her life happily without anyone's intrusion. He had stopped spying on her a long time ago.

She spotted a dot-like figure on the shore, and her eyes shimmered at the sight of a familiar person beside the chariot. She spread her arms in the water current to reach quickly. The moving tides gently cradled her exhausted form and carried her to the shore.

Subhadra walked towards the shore gracefully, her feet slipping across the sand as she walked in her drenched, translucent clothes that clung to her body. "How come you always find me? Did you fall in love with me?"

Subhadra settled beside Krishna. His face radiated serenity as he watched the setting sun in the sky. "You give yourself too much credit, don't you?"

Subhadra playfully hauled a hollow shell to his face, and he chuckled at her antics.

"Tiring day "?
She questioned.
"Every day is tiring in life. We woke up to a life where responsibilities weigh the future. Some will carry them like a priced possession where some had to expel them in pretext of their own pleasure. Prize rewards the actions. Dharma follows the karma always. Amidst these circumstances some are destined to flow in the boat in the name of fate. Everyday is a tiring subhadre ".

Subhadra nodded. Oblivious to the reason for his lack of enthusiasm. They both looked at the vibrant colours spread through the sky. The sun was about to set.
Subhadra wrapped her arms around her petite drenched form as the chilled wind passed nearby. Krishna sensing his sister's discomfort undone his uthariya and covered her fully in it.

"Don't dive too deep. You are still inexperienced. Dau probably won't mind taking back his words"
She pouts her lips.

"He won't. He had promised me. All thanks to you and your smart brain that convinced him to put restrictions on me no more. I have never been happier like this. This is so surreal"

Krishna stared back at her. Lotus eyes glimmered in happiness. subhadra lowered her eyes feeling his naked eyes on her, one that always unlids her pretended form.

"Just tell me what you want to know, little one"Krishna averted his gaze back to the tides. The roaring ones finally had decided to stay calm as the sunrays disappeared back into the sky. Subhadra fidgets with her fingers unable to form the words.
