It was late in the evening. The sun began to touch the horizon making the sky scattered red. A flock of birds gathers above the sea adding serenity to the scene.
The priests who were leading the evening prayers were alerted by the sound of a bell ringing from the temple as it echoed all along the shore.
People says that Dwaraka's sunset was the most breathtaking sight that everyone should experience once in their life time. Everyone was busy preparing to leave.Far away from all the commotion a girl sat unbothered about her surroundings. Her small hands were dipped in sand.
The girl became suddenly agitated as her long curly hair swayed in the light breeze that was blowing towards the shore. Her almond shaped eyes were capturing all the sights she could have been able to.She was so immersed in her thought's that she didn't realise when someone sat beside her making her flinch.
" father, you scared me!"
She let out a sigh which caused the man smile at her." you silly girl, coming here all alone with out informing anyone, you scared us". She wore her typical nonchalant expression as her father continued to complain like a kid.
"Does it bother you"?
Vasudeva chuckled at her tactics. Subhadra well knows how to trap others with her sweet words."Ofcourse no dear, But seems like your brother balrama really do "
Well subhadra cant blame her brother for that. Her elder brother was a jerk when it came to her and everyone was well aware of that."Me and krishna tried to calm him down. But he is looking for you in the whole temple. Poor soldier's jobs are at stake because of you subhadra".
She felt guilty for coming here with out informing anyone. Moreover she was aware that her short tempered brother won't pay attention to anything untill he sees his beloved sister.
"You are right, let's go then. Or else he will turn the world upside down."
Subhadra sprinted towards the temple like a hoarse. The scorchy sand across the shore was making it difficult for her to run. But the thought of getting scolded by her brother scared her, especially on her birthday. Subhadra turned halfway and looked at her father with pleading eyes.
" won't you come with me? Save me from his wrath, father "
She yelled at him when he proceed to sit down."Don't worry, your saviour is there darling,Krishna will cover for you "
He turned to face her receding form. It had been sixteen years since she entered their lives like an angel and gave them all the hope to live.
The memories of his six children still troubles him. Nothing made him joyful.
Neither when krishna and balaram released them nor when krishna killed the kansa. He remained unaffected by the events taking place all around him.
And then she showed up, repairing every pieces of his broken heart.
The result of his years of patience was her.His subhadra.
