The city of Pristella lay in ruins. Smoke curled into the sky from burning buildings, casting the once-beautiful city into a nightmarish landscape of shadows and ash. The clash of swords and the screams of battle could be heard echoing through the streets. Amidst this chaos, in a courtyard littered with debris and bodies, Emilia stood over the corpse of Capella, the Archbishop of Lust. Her silver hair, usually so pristine, was matted with blood and dirt, and her purple eyes shimmered with determination as she caught her breath.

Beside her, Julius Juukulius wiped his bloodied sword on the hem of his cloak. His usually immaculate appearance was marred by bruises and sweat, but his eyes held their typical sharpness, the focus of a knight. He looked at Emilia, who was still breathing heavily, her gaze fixed on Capella's lifeless body.

"We did it," Julius said softly, his voice hoarse from shouting incantations during the battle. "The city is safer now. Capella is no more."

Emilia nodded, still catching her breath. "Yes, but we must hurry. Subaru is dealing with the Archbishop of Wrath in the eastern part of the city. We need to make sure he's okay." She turned to Julius, concern etching her features. "Are you alright? You look... strange."

Julius's eyes were fixed on her, but something had changed. There was a softness in his gaze that had never been there before, a vulnerability that caught Emilia off guard. He took a step closer, his voice trembling slightly. "Emilia... I've never seen anyone as beautiful as you. I... I love you."

Emilia blinked, her mind reeling. "W-what? Julius, what are you saying? This isn't the time for jokes—"

"It's not a joke," Julius interrupted, his voice fervent. "I mean every word. I've loved you for so long. Your kindness, your courage, your beauty... it's all I can think about. I want to be with you, Emilia. I want to marry you, have children with you, and spend my life making you happy."

He reached out, his hand trembling as he tried to touch her face. Emilia recoiled, her eyes wide with shock and confusion. "Julius, this... this isn't like you. Please, stop this. What about Anastasia? What about your duty as her knight?"

Julius shook his head, his expression desperate. "Anastasia means nothing to me compared to you. I would leave her in a heartbeat if it meant I could be with you. I would fight anyone, even Subaru, for your love."

Emilia's heart pounded in her chest. She felt a strange sensation, a heavy, intoxicating warmth spreading through her body. She didn't understand what was happening. Why was Julius saying these things? Was it because of her? Had something changed when she killed Capella? She felt a tug at her memories, recalling Capella's final moments, the way the Archbishop had whispered something inaudible just before dying. Emilia shook her head, trying to clear the fog clouding her mind.

"Julius, please, stop. We can't do this. You don't really mean what you're saying," Emilia pleaded, her voice trembling. But Julius didn't listen. He leaned in, attempting to kiss her.

Panicking, Emilia raised her hand and, with a surge of strength, punched Julius in the stomach. He staggered back, falling to the ground. He looked up at her, not with anger, but with adoration, as if her rejection had only deepened his feelings.

"I love you, Emilia," he murmured, crawling towards her on his hands and knees. He kissed her boots, tears streaming down his cheeks. "I want to be with you. I need to be with you."

"Julius, stop!" Emilia cried, backing away from him. Her heart ached with pity and confusion, not knowing how to help him.

At that moment, Roswaal and Crusch entered the courtyard, alerted by the commotion. Roswaal's eyes widened as he saw Julius on the ground, kissing Emilia's feet, and Emilia trying to back away from him, her expression frantic.
