Clarien didn’t had the chance to process what Seikenzo had said when the kids began running towards Seikenzo and gave the latter a hug, even chanting Seikenzo’s name all over again in glee.
The kids looked at Clarien in confusion and to the groceries they bought. Clarien was taken aback when they smiled at him, making his heart flutter and smile too. “Hello.” He waved, making the kids do the same. They looked at Seikenzo, waiting for the other to introduce him.
“I’m—”
“He’s Clarien Kei.” Seikenzo then introduced, looking at Clarien while smiling.
“what’s your relationship with him?” a kid asked, making the both of them shocked, taken aback—couldn’t find the right words to respond to the question.
Really, it’s just a simple question, a question that can be answered quickly. It can be answered ‘he’s my friend’ yet it was so difficult for Seikenzo to utter that word, totally aware that the relationship he have with Clarien is far from ‘friends’.
while Clarien is still waiting for the answer, anticipated for what he really means for Seikenzo. He felt a pang in the chest when he realized that he might be just a friend to Seikenzo and nothing more, making his mood change and looked down, fidgeting his fingers— it didn’t go unnoticed to Seikenzo.
Clarien was busy fidgeting his fingers when he suddenly felt Seikenzo’s hands holding his, making him looked at Seikenzo, confused. Seikenzo just smiled at him, holding his hand tighter, pulling him closer. “he’s my dearest.”
Sei felt his kitten froze, earning a chuckle from him, looking at the stunned kitten and winked at him. He saw the children squealed and shook his head. “stop being nosy, and let’s go inside. Help us with the bags, thank you.”
WHAT DID HE JUST SAID? I’M HIS…..DEAREST? WHAT?
Clarien is surely malfunctioning, he can’t even mutter a word and is still shocked. He pulled Seikenzo towards him, eyes wanting an assurance and confirmation. “What did you say—”
“I don’t repeat my statements, Clarien..” seikenzo held his shoulders, eyes staring at his and pinched his cheeks gently. “it what makes it special and true, when it’s not repeated, kitten..”
Clarien was left while his mouth is still agape, earning a giggle from Seikenzo and pulled him to go inside. He scratched his nape when he saw the nuns waiting for them. They immediately smiled at them, hugging them.
“Enzo! I’m so glad you finally decided to visit us.” The nun said, obviously sulking making Seikenzo pout and hugged the nun back, feeling sorry. “and you’re with someone, huh?” the teasing tone didn’t go unnoticed making both of them shy.
Enzo? That’s a cute nickname. Clarien giggled when Seikenzo glared at him, totally aware that he was giggling because of the nickname.
“I’m Clarien, his frien—”
He stopped talking when Seikenzo let go of his hand, rolling his eyes as he crossed his arms. Clarien then chuckled and continued to tease the other. “his friend.” He saw how Seikenzo’s eyes went emotionless, shaking his head as he took the bags, leaving Clarien with the nuns and going to the kids.
“Sister, my friend bought groceries and clothes for the kids.”
Clarien’s eyes widened when Seikenzo emphasized the word ‘friend’ making him pout. He received a glare from the latter before he went to the kitchen.
“Thank you for that but you didn’t have to buy all those things because a visit from both of you will make the kids very happy.” Sister Isabel said, caressing his hand. "But, I'm very grateful for everything. I'm sure that the kids will love them."
