[ Third Person Pov ]

“Seungmin just left for his shift, poor guy.”

Shinhye listened to Hyunjin's prattle all the way from the kitchen, her attention affixed on making popcorn for both of them. The duo had decided on a simple movie night, as they couldn't carry on with their original plan. The black haired was glad that her neighbour was actually here, diverting her mind away from the incident that happened earlier, but made a mental plan to confront Jisung about it, noting the fact that he calls her Shinnie the most.

“I had a talk with him this morning,” Shinhye walked out of the kitchen, placing the popcorn on the table. “He seems delighted as always,” she sighed, slapping Hyunjin's hand away from the hot bowl of popcorn.

Hyunjin flaunted his hand, biting his lip to suppress a yelp. “Yup, he told me,” he looked at the red spot now painted on his dorsal side. “That kinda hurt, Shinnie,” he huffed, paying no mind to Shinhye, who shot him an accusatory glare.

“What did you just call me?”

“Shinnie?” Hyunjin had a questioning look. “I call you that almost all the time, don't act surprised.”

Shinhye watched as the red haired shrugged, jumping into the sofa, he picked up the bowl of popcorn, casually throwing three into his mouth. “What?” her neighbour irked a brow. “Stop checking me out, I don't want my friend falling for me.”

“Bro, the chances of me falling for you is a negative one,” Shinhye gruffed, sitting next to him, her arms crossed. Completely ignoring Hyunjin who feigned hurt, Shinhye hummed at the movie choice he picked out. “Seriously dude, this?”

“What about it? I wanna watch two guys risking their lives to save one girl,” Hyunjin proceeded to press play. “I can't help that I'm a hopeless romantic.”

“Sure you can,” Shinhye whipped out her phone, her screen being the second lit thing in the room. Her brows arched when she saw two new notifications from the same number.

“No phones allowed,” Hyunjin quickly snatched the device away from her, before she could even catch a glimpse of what they could've possibly sent.

Shinhye whined in protest. “But you were with your phone a while ago.”

“Shush,” the red haired pressed a finger on her lips. “The movie is starting.”

Shinhye huffed, breaking the short-lived eye contact they had. “Fine, but I promise I'm not gonna enjoy this lame ass movie you picked,” she hugged a pillow closer to her chest, her lips curved into a pout.

“It's not lame,” Hyunjin argued. “Seungmin recommended it.”

His words made Shinhye break into a laughing fit, not believing a word the red haired had uttered. Seungmin didn't look like the kind to watch movies such as these, he didn't even look like the kind to get engaged in movies in general. “Kim Seungmin?” she mused, excitement evident in her tone.

“Yeah? Everyone has seen this movie.”

“Hmm, I guess I live under a rock.”

Shinhye watched the movie without further protest, only complaining when a few cheesy scenes would pop up, or grimacing when they were steamy, which were quite often. But she couldn't deny that it didn't follow an intriguing storyline, moderately mysterious yet amorous.

“Meh, maybe it's kinda good,” Shinhye mumbled defeat when the credits rolled, hoping it didn't get to her neighbour. “Jinnie?” she called for him, groaning when she noticed that he had already crashed, hugging all the blankets she brought out.

The black haired leaned closer to him, grabbing his hand softly, she didn't want to wake him up, trying her best to get her phone away from his strong grip.
