Jungkook sat in front of Yeonjun’s desk in anticipation of what he had to say. He remembers sending a sample of his drugs to Yeonjun last week. And since then Jungkook has been on edge. He wanted to know what lies he had been living all these years.

“Jungkookah, son, are you still taking the meds your doctor prescribed?”

“Eomma, do you remember any of my friends from college?”

“Eomma remembers only Hyein whom you brought home one day. You were not keeping tabs with your friends after coming back from Busan, son.” Mirae said, looking at her son with a smile directed at him.

Jungkook remembers the same lie repeated by her every other time. Yet he agrees to it without saying anything further. Because he was helpless. He couldn't remember to defend himself.

He knew his heart yearned for something, especially someone he lost. This feeling was there every day, every hour and every second of his life. The only other time he felt different and complete was when he was with Jimin. That boy gave him a sense of solace. A feeling of warmth. He felt protected under the warmth of his hands. That's why he couldn't just stay away from that boy, no matter what.

Jungkook was brought back from his thoughts when Yeonjun sat in front of him with a file that contained the drug results.

“Jungkook, I don't know if you are ready for this result.”

Jungkook gulped his already dry throat. “You can tell me whatever is written in that paper, Yeonjun.”

Yeonjun nodded.

“This drug doesn't do anything to recover your memories. But it has a counter effect on your dissociative Amnesia. It is inhibiting you from remembering a part of your emotional memory that your brain has hidden. That night you went through a serious trauma both emotionally and physically. It toyed with the most precious memory of yours. And these drugs are keeping you from remembering those memories. I suggest you stop taking them on a serious note.”

Jungkook's hands clenched. He couldn't believe he had been deceived by his own family. He knew he was finding it difficult to remember even though it had been six years since the incident and taking the meds prescribed by his doctor.

His mother even changed his physician after six months of treatment at Busan. He had to revise whatever he studied at the University again for a year after his recovery. Those days were hell. His brain was on a constant attempt to bring back his memory. But every time someone was holding him back. Now that he was looking back. There was always his mother's hands on his life since the day he opened his eyes in that hospital, all lost and scared. She was that drug which was holding him back from remembering.

“Jungkook?”

“Y-yes.” Jungkook blinked his eyes to spread the unshed tears that gathered in his eyes.

“Are you okay? Do you know who is behind this?”

“Yes. These days, we can't even trust our family. Even your own blood. Thank you for helping me out, Yeonjunah.”

“Hey, if you want I can prescribe meds that might help you heal. If anything, I can help you out, Jungkookah.”

Jungkook looked at the bottle of pill sitting on his passenger seat and at the road. He was frustrated with himself. How did he even end up in that accident?

He gently touched the small scar that was still present on his forehead in thought. It was a living memory of that incident.

He even went back to his college in Busan to find answers. And everyone he met was on edge when they started talking. It's like they were all hiding things from him. How can a mother do something like this to their child? What is her motive? He was sure she wasn't protecting him. If she did, he wouldn't have been married to Hyein.
