Hyein ran towards the front door when Jungkook walked through it wearing a coffee coloured suit. Her smile immediately vanished upon looking at his suit.

He knew what she was thinking. He didn't wear the suit she chose for him. "Why didn't you wear the one I chose for you?"

Jungkook scratched his brow before looking at her. "I didn't like its design that much."

That was lame. He knew that. But he couldn't bring himself to wear what she chose for him. Not anymore.

"Jungkookah.. son, take a seat. Hyein has made all your favorites."

Jungkook looked at the expanse of dishes on the long table inside Hyein's family house. He looked at each one of the delicacies placed over the table one by one. But there wasn't one dish that was his favorite. These dishes were all prepared at Jeon's mansion according to his mother's taste. Nothing was prepared in accordance with Jungkook's choice. The only time he tasted something of his favorite was when he was with Jimin. The taste of that ramyeon porridge still lingered in his tongue. He could still feel the aroma in his nostrils.

"Eat Jungkook. Why are you gawking at the food? Are you surprised that Hyein could cook this much?"

Jungkook sighed before taking his chopsticks upon hearing Hyein's mother. She had this permanent grin plastered on her face whenever he visited. He wasn't hungry. But like a mannequin, he started digging in just for the sake of Hyein.

"Son, we heard from Hyein that the IVF treatment was a failure."

Jungkook stopped chewing his first bite before looking at his wife. So, this was the real reason behind this dinner. They needed to know what he was planning next.

"Yes, it was."

"Is that why you were visiting the hospital recently?"

Jungkook was definitely taken aback by that question. Hyein herself wasn't expecting for her father to blurt that out. Jungkook would definitely find out that Hyein was stalking his whereabouts.

"I had a friend admitted at the hospital. Was visiting them."

"Oh!! who?" Jungkook's hands clenched around the chopsticks hearing her mother. The woman had no sense when it came to her mouth.

"You are making him uncomfortable, Eomma. It's alright Jungkook. Here, have this stir fried beans and pork."

Jungkook's face crunched momentarily when she placed the green veggie on his plate. He hates beans. How can she not know something so basic about her husband even after three years of married life? He had always rejected the maid's at their home when they served him beans. She hasn't even noticed that yet.

At the same time Jungkook remembered Jimin taking out the beans from his fried rice when they had lunch together at the hospital. How does Jimin know that he doesn't like beans? That was one question among the thousands he had in his head these days.

"Why don't you and Hyein try again? I don't think there is a problem with you or her. Even Hyunwoo and I took a while to conceive after our marriage."

Jungkook didn't reply even though the whole table was anticipating his answer. He was toying with the meat on his plate.

Hyunwoo and HeRa looked at each other before continuing to eat silently. Hyein could feel the burn on her head from the glare her father was directing at her.

"Jungkook and I are going to try with another surrogate. Isn't it Jungkook?"

Jungkook finally placed his chopsticks down before looking at Hyein's father. "No. We aren't going to try again." Hyein was the surprised one now. She placed her chopsticks down with a frown.
