A Tangled Heart

Vijay was taken aback. He hadn't expected this to come up now, not like this. He had told Nivin about the contract when it all began, believing he was doing the right thing. But now, seeing the devastation in Kaveri, he realized how badly he had misjudged everything.

Vijay felt his world crumbling around him. The woman he had come to love, who had become his everything, was slipping away because of his own misguided actions.

He knelt in front of her, taking her hands in his, though he knew it might be too late.

Before she could respond, a knock sounded on the door.
