After dinner, everyone moved to the living room, enjoying the lingering warmth of laughter and family togetherness. Kaveri nestled comfortably next to Vijay, his hand resting over hers as they shared an occasional glance. But when Ganga leaned forward with a mischievous grin, Kaveri's instinct for danger kicked in.
"School days pathi pesunathum thaan niyabagam varuthuu namma Kaveri eruka-laaa..." Ganga began, her tone light and playful.
Kaveri's heart skipped a beat as she sensed what was coming. She quickly interrupted, putting on a forced smile. "Haannnn...Akka, Akka.. Innaiku ithu pothum Already romba late agiduchi, Namma vera beach poi velaiyaadi paaru Yamuna, Narmadha-laa romba tired-ah erukanga, thoonga polam kaa mathathu-laam innoru naal pesikalam, Enga poga porom ellarum?"
But Yamuna's sharp eyes had already caught her elder sister's unease. She leaned forward, grinning widely. "Engaluku-laa tired-ah illa kaa , Oruvela Unaku tired-ahhhhh erunthaa Nee vena poi rest edu, Ganga Akka etho interesting-ah solla vanthaa Naanga athu enna-nu ketutu aprm thoonga porom!" She nudged Ganga, adding, "Nee sollu Akka! Ipdiye poi thoonguna ennaku mandaiye vedichidum!"
Kaveri's face turned red, and she glanced at Vijay, hoping he'd miss the exchange. But he was looking straight at her, one eyebrow raised in curiosity.
"Enna maa, unga Akka enna Solla varanga?" he asked, a playful smile pulling at his lips.
Kaveri gave him an awkward smile, trying to brush it off. "Enna keta? Hannnnn..Ava etho solla vara athu Ennaku epdi theriyum " she said, shaking her head with a feigned innocence that did little to hide her embarrassment.
"Oh, Apo etho eruku, unna pathi thana solla varangaa. kedi, Apdi enna Aarvakolaru thanam panna ?" Ganga interjected with a laugh. "Athu onnum illaa namma Kaveri eruka-laaa, Ava 10th padikum pothu avaluku oru special-aana... proposal vanthuchiii."
The room instantly buzzed with interest. Yamuna and Narmadha's eyes sparkled with curiosity, and Vijay's expression turned into one of amusement. Kaveri threw her hands over her face, feeling her cheeks flush.
"Akkaaa!" she groaned, her voice muffled through her hands. "Ippo ethuku athulam pesikituu, En Chellakutty Akka-laa Vennam-meyy pleasee!"
"Adada, Chellakutty-yaa, Nalla erukey, aana Innaiku nee enna ice vachalum ellarkitayum ithaa naan soli-eyy thiruven?" Ganga chuckled. She leaned in conspiratorially, speaking to the room. "So, Sathish, Sathish-nu oru paiyan erunthaan. Avanuku Kaveri mela periya crush-suu. Oru valiya thattu thadumaari confidence vara vachikitu antha Paiyan vanthu iva kita propose panni erukan, Athuku Madam enna panninaanga theriyuma ... ?"
Everyone leaned in, captivated by the story. Vijay was still holding Kaveri's hand, giving her fingers a reassuring squeeze, though she could feel his silent laughter.
"Aarvakolaru mode activate aagi erukum, athana?" he asked with a grin.
"Inthaa idathula ithaan, Ungaluku intha katha rombha pudika poguthu..." Ganga continued, not giving Kaveri a chance to respond. "Straight-taa poi, teacher kita solitaaa ! paavam Manasulaa avlo aasaiyoda vanthaa paiyana, Ellarum munnadiyum Mandi poda vachitaa, pathathuku Nalla Karathe style-laa Naalu adi vera-athuku aprm avlo thaan, anthaa paiyan ivala paatha-ley therichi odiduvaan!"
At this, everyone burst into laughter. Kaveri's embarrassment deepened, and she buried her face in her hands, groaning. Vijay chuckled, reaching over to gently pull her hands away.
"Enna maaa?" he teased, his voice warm with laughter. "A school proposal? Iruthaalu konjam kuda vaa Pavam-nu thonala ?"
Yamuna jumped in, adding to the teasing. "Akka oru Vela ipoo yaaraacham propose panna Enna pannuva? Yaarkita complaint pannuva marubadi-yum teacher kitaya... illaaa Maama kitaya?"
