Dean stood over the stove, mixing cut up vegetables into the pan with the half cooked egg mixture in it, making an omelet. Castiel stood next to him, only inches away, watching his hands in wonder. He didn't need to eat, meaning he never needs to cook, but learning about human ways was something he loved doing.

Dean seemed to do well with cooking so Cas would always watch him do it if he was feeling curious. "So." He began, "This is egg vegetable breakfast?"

Dean blew a breath of amusement out of his nose, "We call it an omelet. But-" He reached past Castiel's chest to the other side of the counter to grab a bag of cheese, "-it's more than vegetables the way I make it. This way it tastes good."

"It would still taste like molecules to me." He hesitated. "But I trust your judgement of food."

With a smile, Dean shook the pan sideways, letting the omelet fall onto his plate. "Thank you, I consider myself a good judge of food."

He watched Dean as he grabbed his fork and sat in a chair at the table, making himself appear across from him in another chair. "Sometimes I miss the taste of food. Back when I was human for a short time."

He looked up with a fork full of food halfway to his mouth, "Right. The taste. I'd sure as hell miss it too."

With a sigh, Cas responded, "Yes."

In the other room, Sam was buried in a book full of angel lore, because what else was he to do but research when they couldn't leave the bunker. He flipped page after page, getting a little bored of reading about things he already knew, until coming onto one of the last chapters of the book. 'Wing Manifestation' it said.

Intrigued, he continued reading through the chapter, learning that if angels chose, humans could see their wings manifest on their vessels. That was something new, finally. He read line after line, finding himself more curious about what they would look like in real life and why Cas had never chosen to show them before.

Thinking for a moment, he left the book open on the table and rapped his fingers on the surface. "Hey, Cas!?"

Cas disappeared from the table chair and Dean shook his head; it was still hard to get used to someone disappearing and reappearing in the middle of conversation. Sam flinched in surprise as Castiel materialized next to him, "What Sam?"

"Jes- anyways. I found this book," He pointed forward and Cas leant in to read the words through a squint. "and I was wondering if it was accurate. Or- at least this chapter."

After reading for a moment he responded, "Yes. I mean, not all angel wings are white as this implies. Overall, yes."

"Do, uh, do you ever show your wings?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"My wings? No." He said bluntly. "I don't. Why?"

"I just, I wondered if you'd ever show me and Dean? I'm bored and I would love to learn something new or interes-"

"No." Castiel cut him off.

"Oh." Sam tilted his head in confusion. "Can I ask why not?"

Instead of getting a response, he was met with silence and a suddenly empty room. Cas had disappeared again, off to the kitchen table, and he just shook his head in annoyance.

Startled, Dean began choking on his bite of food and coughed for a few moments before regaining his composure. "Dude, you have got to warn a man."

"My apologies." Cas sat awkwardly in the chair across from him, his face vaguely pink, making Dean wonder what Sam had asked him about.

"What are you so pink about?"

Cas glanced down at his hands, flipping them over and back. Looking back up with a raised eyebrow he replied, "I am not pink Dean. I am tan... colored."
