Chapter II: The Flap Of A Butterflies Wing

"By the way, my name's Arthur Pendragon. With a reputation like yours, I've heard about you for years." The carefree way Arthur speaks to the captain as if a pending battle against two powerful warriors isn't about to occur strikes a nerve in you in a way that you could not describe. Grip tightening around your weapon before glaring over at him.

"Focus on the opponents in front of you and don't let your guard down! If you wish to be all buddy buddy with the Captain in the future, and not die here for acting foolish, I suggest you focus and start getting serious." Both the captain and Arthur look over to you with wide eyes, Arthur's palatinate gaze full of concern as to what he could have done to upset you. The last thing he wanted to do was offend you in any way. However, Meliodas' shamrock green eyes locked onto your face with a look of speculation more or less. No matter how he looked at the situation he couldn't quite discern what could have made you act this way. Because the thing was, you never acted like much of anything at all. You never questioned nor critiqued anyones ways as you simply did not care. You could not care. And he knew that better than anyone.

"Of course, Lady Y/n." Arthur timidly responded, his eyes shamefully sliding back to Gilthunder and Hendrickson while quietly following your orders.

"Okay, then. Let's pick up where we left off, Little Gil!" Meliodas smirked confidently at the taller, much broader Holy Knight. Sword pointed forward like a promise to end his misery.

"I'm only doing what I must, nothing more." Gilthunder's monotone lackluster voice reminded you of your own. That empty look behind his eyes, the way his lips were pressed thinly into a line, every bit of him looked like you were standing face to face with your reflection.

I wonder if he was affected by a curse, a binding of his own. What are the implications of such magic? Who is the caster? What conditions must he meet to be free? I wonder if they're similar to my own. I wonder if he understands...

"I warn you now, I'm not gonna hold back!" Quicker than any one else could intervene the two swordsmen leaped forward and began exchanging blows. Eyes locked on the other with years of hard trained focus and concentration. Not willing to blink even for just a moment to give the other an opening.

"The speed of their strikes is unbelievable! And they're barely trying! Amazing!" Arthur's thoughts poured from his mouth while staring at the two talented knights with astonishment. The expression on his face; mouth agape with his pretty violet eyes wide... it made you melt...? That's how it felt. Like you were melting and your knees were melting into a thick and viscous substance that you couldn't seem to pull your legs out of.

"We have some unfinished business. Shall we, King Arthur?" Gasping as you had not processed Hendrickson making his way behind who you were ordered to protect in your deep thoughts about him.

Moving quicker than you had time to think, suddenly your body is positioned in between the two men. Your lack of a strategy causes Hendrickson to gain the upper hand and stab his blade deep within your gut.

"Lady Y/n!" Arthur's eyes look at the weapon in horror, watching your crimson blood stain its shiny and metallic silver blade. The liquid poured over the width and spilled to the ground with a splat. Your eyes look up to Hendrickson's cerulean ones with an empty, unamused stare. Leaning your head to the side before spitting out the metallic crimson coppery filth that had gurgled up your throat.
