Monday morning dawned bright and early, but the school felt different as Ethan walked through the entrance. The usual hum of gossip and chatter seemed distant, like a backdrop to a new rhythm Ethan was finally part of. Just a few weeks ago, he had been content with blending into the scenery, staying in the background, unnoticed by most. But now, as he strode down the hallway, head held high, he felt a palpable shift in how others perceived him.

"Hey," Ethan replied, returning her smile with one of his own. "How's your morning been?"

Sophia laughed lightly, the sound like music to his ears. "Pretty good. Though I can't go anywhere without someone asking me about you."

Ethan chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "I never thought I'd be the topic of conversation."

Sophia nudged him playfully, her expression full of affection. "Get used to it. You're kind of a big deal now."

The truth was, the transformation wasn't just about how others saw him—it was also about how Ethan saw himself. For so long, he had been content with being invisible, with flying under the radar to avoid the attention and conflict that guys like Logan thrived on. Logan, on the other hand, had been conspicuously absent since that night. Rumor had it that he was lying low, licking his wounds after the public rejection and the loss of his status as the school's unchallenged alpha. Ethan didn't concern himself with Logan anymore. He had bigger things to focus on—his relationship with Sophia, his friendships, and his future.

The day passed quickly, the lingering afterglow of Homecoming still casting a warm light over everything. By lunchtime, Ethan found himself at their usual table, surrounded by the familiar faces of Mark, Jen, and a few others who had become close friends over the past few weeks. The atmosphere was light and easy, filled with jokes and banter, a stark contrast to the tension that had defined so much of the school year.

"So, Ethan," Mark began, leaning back in his chair with a grin, "I hear you've become quite the legend around here."

Ethan rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "Please, don't start with that."

Jen laughed, tossing a crumpled napkin at Mark. "Leave him alone, Mark. He's been through enough."

"Yeah, yeah," Mark replied, still grinning. "But seriously, man, you did good. It's not easy taking on someone like Logan and coming out on top."
